Guest guest
Hi ! Your best bet is to call the drs office. The smaller the lump the better chance its not in the nodes. As for your thyroid our daughter went through that and it was/is a goiter and she is on meds. Actually she needs to go for her check up this month or less. So hang in there. We are here for you. I saw the surgeon on Monday. He wants to do an open biopsy due to the small size of the lump. I have a question - when my mom had her biopsy they tested the lymph nodes at the same time. He didn't mention anything like this, and I forgot to ask. Could that be because of the size? Does the size directly relate to the possibility of being in the lymph nodes? Should I call the office and ask? Also, when he was doing the exam he thought he felt something in my thyroid, so now I have to have a thyroid ultrasound. He said it could be nothing, but he thought the rt. side felt different than the left. What a pain! I'm not really worried about it, but it's just another thing. Jill, I totally know how you feel about the lung " thing " . Anyways, the u/s is scheduled for 12/26 and the biopsy for 12/27. I will keep you all updated. Thanks so much for your support! Guest guest
Hi , I don't know much about biopsies except for my own, but you are different from your mother and your lump is different from hers so it's not surprising you might require different types of biopsies. I suggest calling his office and asking; he ought to be glad to tell you. And if he isn't, I'd suggest maybe finding another doctor who is willing to spend some time assuaging his patients's fears. It's normal to feel scared, even if there's nothing to be rationally scared about. Doctors should treat our entire bodies and emotions, not just our breasts. As for the thyroid, I had a thyroid nodule a while ago that went away on its own, though I have had to be on thyroid medication for about twenty years now. I don't even think about it unless I forget to take it. It's really no big deal, especially compared to breast cancer! Thanks for empathiszing with my silly worry about what no doubt is just lung scarring. What crappy timing for your tests, though. I hope you can put them out of your mind (maybe with the aid of a little eggnog) and enjoy Christmas anyhow. Guest guest
When in doubt, always ASK! You or your insurance are paying good (and a lot of it) money for your health care. So ask. doris > Hi ladies, > > I want to say that I've been reading all of your stories and you're in my > prayers. >
