Guest guest
Hi, I have a 4 year-old daugther with ASD and she is 5 months on SCD.I did a OAT back in October and her Clostridia levels are higher than before SCD and also she showed yeast for the fisrt time. I was using Digest Gold Enzymes and our DAN! doctor thinks she was reacting to them causing an inflamation on the gut. He recommended Flagyl following with Nystanin and B-12 shots. At this point I might need to start SCD again. Can anyone give some advice with antifungals? These foods are waht my daugther is eating now: Eggs Chicken Turkey Carrots Spinach Walnut pancakes Honey Banana Apples Mango pineapple strawberries Oranges Dole's pineapple juice Tropicana Orange Juice Thank you, Ivonne
Guest guest
Personally, I'd make sure I was giving either Diflucan/Nystatin DURING the Flagyl, or else a generous helping of probiotics. Flagyl kills off good stuff, too, which I think can make the yeast go up. That's also a lot of fruits plus honey if you're worried about yeast, although ensure enough fat/carbs, too, with protein, and keep hydrated. Make sure she's digesting whatever she eats. Any advice using Flagyl? Guest guest
When my son had yeast problems, Nystatin didn't help, so we had to use Ketoconazole. We have it compounded at a local pharmacy to remove the lactose and artificial colors.
Guest guest
Yeah, I didn't notice anything from Nystatin, either. Diflucan seemed to work better. SCD also. Re: Any advice using Flagyl?
