Guest guest
Hi -- Thanks for replying. My test results going in were: TSH .01 T4, total 19.6 T3 uptake 45.2 T4 free 8.86 The RAI was done the wk of Dec 3. New blood test results from January 12 he only asked for TSH which was 0.01 and T4, free which was 2.6. I am 5'6 " and have been around 142 my entire adult life, but always had a tendency to gain weight (I was an overweight teenager with overweight parents). I've kept it at bay by eating a low carb diet. Now I'm 152.5. I just began going to the gym -- but haven't done anything monumental (muscle is *not* the reason for the weight gain!)- - just some mild weights and walking. I have not started replacement yet (I guess because I am still pretty hyper). I don't take any vitamins or supplements. I started with mild Grave's about 3 years ago but it was never bad enough to put me on meds, plus there was an overhanging question about pregnancy (I've since decided to remain childfree.) I was seen by several endocrinologists and it seems that it was mild, and then normal until last October. I eat breakfast (slow cook oatmeal), mid-a.m. snack(cheese stick), lunch (salad w/protein), midaft (cheese stick and some almonds or a salad) and protein,a salad and veggie for dinner. I usually have sugar free jello at night. I drink alcohol (and am not giving it up!) a few times a week. Sad, huh? The mood swings, insomnia, etc began around 3 weeks ago. I can't tell you how much I appreciate your help. Bonnie
Guest guest
Hi Bonnie---Has the doctor prescribed thyroid hormone to replace what you will never make again? You don't mention this in your post. If not, it is CRUCIAL that you take thyroid hormone for the rest of your life! Have you gotten back with your doc on this? Tx New: please help - intolerable symptoms > I'm so glad I found this group. I need your help with two things: > symptom treatment and diet. Guest guest
-- If you look at my blood test numbers in my previous post -- he told me I am still pretty hyperthyroid. They wouldn't give me anything until I become (if ever) hypo-thyroid, correct? Thanks - Bonnie > Hi Bonnie---Has the doctor prescribed thyroid hormone to replace what you > will never make again?
