warning about implants

Ladies,

What I am wondering about is how do we warn ladies about this. I mean

when I got implants it was 20 years ago we didn't have the internet.

People that are getting implnats now are able to do research on the

internet before getting them. Are we just perceived as a bunch of

whackos? They are still getting implants in the thousands. And they are

just as dangerous NOW as they ever were. Just look at Grethchen's case.

she just got implants 5 weeks ago, she is still healing from the

surgery. I am not blaming her, but if we could reach these women before

hand wouldn't that be great. It would be interesting to know if the new

ladies did do research on the web and what they read and where they

went to research. and what they thought, maybe then we can address it

somehow? THE WORD ABOUT THE DANGERS JUST DON'T SEEM TO BE GETTING OUT.

gretchen did you file a med watch or report your inamed. Are you part

of a study?

Maybe your mom could do this it is so important. otherwise they will

say there are no problems with these implants.Good luck with your

surgery

Hi Terri, I think one way we could do this if we could somehow incorporate ourselves into a charitable organization and get ourselves a celebrity spokesperson, someone like yourself Terri. Maybe Dr. Kolb and other doctors like her could also join our fight. Just typing off of the top of my head the mandate could be to provide education to warn these women and provide emotional and financial support to women, men and children who's lives have been so badly affected by these implants (ie., money for explantation when insurance doesn't pay). I know I'm one of them but it sounds like there are a number of women out there that have wonderfully supportive husbands, boyfriends, male friends, fathers etc., and maybe they could support this charitable effort. I think as far as any perception is concerned as one dear male friend of mine said, "it doesn't matter what others think, it goes home with them". We are

all strong, beautiful and intelligent women and anyone that thinks otherwise is simply incorrect and that's their problem, not ours. That's my two cents. Would love to hear what you think. Patty,

Maybe Kacey was the woman I heard talking as my back was to the tv

when I first heard in 05 about saline implants making women sick. I

didn't make it to the tv in time, I was doing the dishes but had been

sick for 9 years with fibro and didn't have a clue it could be my

implants when I heard from the living room a story I couldn't

believe. It was truly life saving for me. I never saw the story or

heard it again. I immediately went to the computer to look up info

for the first time and was horrified and surprised that none of the

30 Dr.s I had been to had ever brought it into question as a

possibility mine were 20 years old.

Yes it has been brought to the worlds attention but seems to keep

getting ignored. Big money involved. Thanks to all those women and

men who have spoken out and continue to do so on our behalf,

Terri P

we've talked about appearing on these shows many times! In fact,

Kacey Long from our group did appear on Montel in February

2006. http://www.implantsout.com/media.htm

magazine articles.

> Most talk shows don't want to focus on the " GASP! " factor of breast

implant illnesses, but on the " Ooooh La La, look at me now! " factor

of getting breast implants. It's much more attractive and sexy for

them to talk about the positives of breast implants and stay on their

advertisers/promoters/political allies good sides. You gotta follow

the money....if they piss off the advertisers and other big corporate

guys, they are the ones that lose. And they are not in the business

to lose. They need to stay in good standing.

>

> Oprah found that out when she spoke badly about beef, remember that

one? That was a big enough and costly enough mess that I think she

shies away from expensive controversies. Why should she go out on a

limb, when she has lots of other subjects she can talk about

instead? Especially doing things like give away cars and trips and

whatever else she does.

>

> Hmmm, wouldn't it be nice if she actually did something

compassionate such as pay for explant for a few women that

desperately need it? Now that would be really nice....and she

wouldn't have to say alot of negative things...it could just be

simply doing it for someone because they were ready to " BE REAL "

again.
