Guest guest
, I had that smell under my right arm pit. Dr. Kolb, told me you can smell the infection. Did you have proper explant? En-bloc, all capsules removed and Drains put in? I wonder if you could still have some capsule with toxins in them. I had Dr. Kolb www.plastikos.com remove my implants, I don't feel no empty pocket like you are talking about. I would e-mail her and see what she thinks it could be, maybe she could help you over e-mail. Good Luck to you.
Guest guest
, If infection, I wonder if we should take more antibiotics? I just wonder since sometimes I have that smell, mine I thought might be from all the raw garlic I eat. If we are still dealing with infection maybe these ladies can recommend what to do? This could help me also... Thanks if anyone could help us both with this issue. I may write to Dr. Kolb regarding this and post her answer soon. Thanks and God Bless!! Guest guest
Hi , What where you symptoms? I've had mine for 12 years, and they started giving me trouble over the last 2 years as well, mainly the left one. Explant is Feb. 19th. I went over the muscle, so I don't have any advice on your problem. But it sounds like there is still some type of infection going on with the odor and all. Thanks, > > Hi ladies. Guest guest
, Did you get to see your implants when removed? Mine were nasty I hear never got to see them. I plan to e-mail Dr. Kolb and will keep you posted. Thanks
Guest guest
, Or is it that the stuff in our bodies is resistant to antibiotic? So nothing would kill it anyway?????
Guest guest
, Yea that sounds bad may have been just old implants and the shell breaking down in your body. You could have sent to Dr. Blais and got a free report, like a small summary. Then at that time you can ask for a more detailed test to be done and pay for that one. It sounds like you did the right thing by getting them out. I e-mailed Dr. Kolb I will let you know when I hear back from her. Did you e-mail her too? Guest guest
, I don't know but I do know I had infection for a year and 3 months prior to explant, since I got sick early. I just really assume this since Dr. Kolb told me I had infection. She said you can smell infection and I could and it never really went away totally. I sent her an e-mail. Guest guest
Hi , I am so glad to her your explant is soon. My symptons the last two two years I had the implants came on quite suddently. They started as a strange fatigue with me falling asleep at the drop of a hat, an unexplainable weight gain, bloating, muscle wasting, joint pain in my feet, my vision was blurry at times, a strange urgency to urinate which indicated some kidney or bladder issues, a pain underneath my right shoulder blade that would come and go and the skin rash. I posted pictures on shutterfly of my skin rashes...so you can see those if you go to the link. It was the skin rash that indicated something toxic was going on....but my doctor didn't know what. I went thru CT scans, gallium scans, blood work, homone testing, heavy metal testing, skin biopsies...etc...etc. The skin biopsy showed my lymphocytes were attaching themselves to my red blood cells. My doctor called it a lymphocytic immune system reaction. After I found this site, I printed information from Dr. Kolbs website and took it to my doctor who then agreed maybe it WAS my implants.! I do feel much better since my explant. I will say...that while I felt better immediately and some of the symptons went away, it took me about 5 to 6 months to notice that I truly was getting back to my old self. I only have these two issues left and I think there may have been some muscle damage. I was on antibiotics for a while after the surgery.....and I do think that when I am on them this goes away. What have your symptons been ...??? > > > > Hi ladies. It has been a while since I posted. I wanted to > update > > everyone. For those that don't know, I had my saline implants for > 12 > > years. Guest guest
Hi Donna, Dr. Schnarrs did my explant and yes he did it enbloc and took the capsules out. I also had a T lift done. I had these two symptons before my explant.....so...just not sure. Strange...that it is only under the right arm. Not both. I may try to email Dr. Kolb. Maybe she has some clues about this. > > , > > I had that smell under my right arm pit. Dr. Kolb, told me you can smell the > infection. Did you have proper explant? Guest guest
Donna, You have this sometimes too???? If you email Dr. Kolb, please let me know what she says. We have both been on antibiotics and antifungals. So if it is infection then I don't think we have been on the right antibotic for it yet....or perhaps not long enough. My doctor here hates antibiotics because it messes up our digestive systems so much. Also I wonder....how to culture something like this...to ensure we are on the right antibiotic?? I might go have an appointment with Dr. S...to see what he says....too. Please let me know what you find out.... > > , > > If infection, I wonder if we should take more antibiotics? Guest guest
, I don't remember if you traveled for your explant . . . if you didn't I'd recommend seeing your explanting doctor . . . Otherwise, give him/her a call. You may have to be examined by a doctor to be sure you don't have fluids accumulating where the implant was. Did you wear a sports bra 24/7 following your surgery? It may not be too late to start wearing one. If it is fluids, it could help get rid of an accumulation. Rogene
Guest guest
Thanks Rogene, I did not have to travel as the doctor was 45 minutes from me. I do need to give them a call. You know, I think I wore the sports bra 24/7 for a while...but after a couple of weeks or so....I remember I would take it off periodically because the nipples were so sore and it aggravated them. Its been 7 months. You don't think this is too far past post op????? I will start wearing it again. I hate bras.....LOL.... > > , > > I don't remember if you traveled for your explant . . . if you didn't I'd recommend seeing your explanting doctor . . . Guest guest
Donna, Yes I did see them and the capsules too. In fact, I brought them home with me. But....I discarded them right before the holidays. Well...mine were filled with a brown fluid not a clear fluid. Dr. S said there was no leak. He also said the reason the fluid was brown was because the implanting doctor injected them with prednisone and antibiotics (over 12 years ago !!!). He was correct. I checked the operative report from the implant and there it was. I probably should have had Dr. Blasie look at them...but seriously after doctors and medical expenses for 2 1/2 years .....I was done. Didn't want to spend good money after bad.....that sort of thing....... > > , > > Did you get to see your implants when removed? Mine were nasty I hear never > got to see them. Guest guest
, Try wearing the bra for a few days and see if it makes any difference. If it's a fluid accumulation, it should go down. I doubt that, assuming it's a cavity that's still open, that it will make the cavity seal itself though. One really should wear a snug, but comfortable sports bra 24/7 until healing is well underway . . . so the internal scar tissue will provide extra lift. Guest guest
Donna, Well...I hope not and I hope that if we have any antibiotic resistant bacterial infection.....the symptons would gradually get worse. One would hope anyway.? Does Kolb indicate anything like this in any of her stuff?? > > , > > Or is it that the stuff in our bodies is resistant to antibiotic? Guest guest
Organisms do become resistant to antibiotics . . . that's why they want you to take the full prescription when prescribed antibiotics. . . If there are any organisms left over, when they rebound, they may have become resistant to the antibiotics first taken. However, there are few organisms that are resistant to all antibiotics! . . Thank God! What often happens is that antibiotics kill off the beneficial organisms along with the bad (yeast/mold/fungus) . . . then the bad organisms rebound faster than the good ones. The bad ones keep the good ones from developing. However, we need the good ones for many functions vital to health. That's why we recommend probiotics . . . Acidopholis, Primal Defense, garlic and sugar free diets. With fungal problems, you may feel better initially, but once the bad organisms start rebounding, you'll begin feeling sick again. It's a real struggle getting all this sorted out . . . However, it's well worth the effort! Rogene
Guest guest
Yes....and I am racking my brain now because I recall either someone here or my doctor told me that if the infection was in the capsule it may not respond antibiotics. Don't know if I totally understand that except they said the blood does not flow in and around the capsule which is scar tissues formation. Dr. S. took my capsules out. Blood work should indicate whether there is an active infection going on....so I may also go to my doctor along with visiting Dr. S. It has been nice not going to doctors.....!!! > > , > > I don't know but I do know I had infection for a year and 3 months prior to > explant, since I got sick early. Guest guest
In my quest for getting better thinking it was my house, which I now know was also my implants: I found that Oil of Oregano is an all natural anti-fungal with no side effects and there is nothing resistant to it, my favorite product is Oreganol. I wouldn't recommend taking it prior to surgery though. > > Organisms do become resistant to antibiotics . . . that's why they want you to take the full prescription when prescribed antibiotics. . . Guest guest
, Well for the last 3 years I thought I was just getting old after hitting 35, but I still look like I'm 26 at 38. Haven't been able to do Cardio for more than 10 minutes, exhausted after 15 minutes of basketball, which I love to play! So I focused on free weights instead...about a year ago I noticed that I didn't recover from workouts very well, three days it took usually. Then 6 months ago my left shoulder started having pain under the shoulder blade. I'd have my massage therapist work on my shoulder weekly... That's the physical part. About one month after having the implants in I wasn't able to tolerate mix drinks anymore. If I had a margarita my heart would race uncontrolably, still does. I was a social drinker for 5 years prior, and held my liquor very well. If I have 2 glasses of wine, my heart races, about one hour into sleeping. I just realized this month that my implants is probably the reason I can't drink. Extreme Chemical Sensitivity, mainly Mold, and Pesticides, and don't tolerate acid base foods like Salsa or fruit juices well. Starting to get pain in my joints the last few weeks, hands, ankles, and knees. I'm very grateful to be getting explanted, and will be detoxing with a wonderful doctor in Orlando. I know Dr. Kolb is great, but my work schedule only allows for a local Dr. > > > > > > Hi ladies. It has been a while since I posted. I wanted to > > update > > > everyone.
