I know the drugs they use are really really harsh and I have had violent and bad reactions to anesthetic in the past (uncontrollable shaking, teeth chattering, dizziness for prolonged periods of time and nausea). Now I try and get local whenever possible, but obviously for explant we need a general. Just thinking that maybe this increases the bad relapse of symptoms that many women have experienced after the explant. Guest guest Posted February 13, 2007 Report Share Posted February 13, 2007 -le, I had shaking and still do from time to time, if I get stressed out I still get shaky, I have to do deep breathing and let go of the anger and frustration, listening to music and taking hot espson baths with the door open, I have to have air in the room or I get to hot and cant breath. But I try to calm and relax myself as much as possible, Also a good laugh is important every friday as a family we rent really stupid funny movies so we can all hav a good belly laugh. I never like meds, but I will take some if needed! I will keep in touch with everyone. I plan to take before and after pictures so people can see. I think my toxic load was already high and then I added anesthesia and another surgery to the mix, and I really felt awful after explant. I know not everyone will agree with me but I used Xanax to get me over the hump, and it really did help with the brain fog. Not just the implants themselves or the capsules/drains, etc. For example: What if the implants stressed your organs enough that you have a lapse in certain enzyme production?And that enzyme was a key one to producing a certain hormone in sufficient quantity? Or in detoxing a certain chemical? Or in any number of things? You won't see an immediate fix on that one. Mind you, I am just giving hypotheticals. What if your delicate endocrine system was damaged in such a way that the adrenals have altered hormone production? Or your thyroid has altered hormone production? Or the thymus? Or reproductive glands? The endocrine system is very, very susceptible to damage from toxic chemicals. Or what if the presence of the implants altered certain mineral metabolisms? Dr. Blais has said it alters calcium metabolism. We've seen many women with severe dental issues after implants. Or what if a toxic metal leached from the implants, such as platinum or tin, and that toxic metal has taken the place of oxygen on the red blood cell and so you aren't getting as much oxygen through the bloodstream? Those toxic metals don't just leave the body when the implants are taken out. What if the implants caused inflammation through altered metabolism of essential fatty acids? What if a deficiency of those essential fatty acids exists and you have not fixed it? Taking out the implants alone won't correct that. What if the presence of silicone in your body suddenly made you allergic to anything related to silicone, which you may be getting through foods or medicines? What if you have suddenly developed an allergic response to a food and you are still eating it and don't realize you are having an allergic reaction to it? I developed an allergy to chocolate of all things after I got implants, and I didn't know it until I got tested for food allergies. I would have never guessed. I was also allergic to brewer's yeast, which made taking B Vitamins impossible for me. I felt horrible after taking B vitamins, yet I thought I was doing myself a good thing by taking them. Nope! Wrong! Brain fog! What if your body has an elevated cytokine production because of implants, and eating green vegetables, which is normally a good thing, raises them even more, making you feel terrible? But eating greens is a good thing, right? You would never make the connection....I didn't and suffered when I juiced green veggies. I am not saying all these things are happening to you, or even that my hypothetical situations are correct...I'm just saying that the reasons for your symptoms may be very, very complex and you cannot say that since the implants are out now and you are getting worse, that maybe it wasn't the implants after all. The implants may have set off a domino effect in your body that you are still suffering the effects of. It's much, much more complicated than we can understand. You can only try to fix it from as many different angles and possibilities as you can, through education, common sense, and application of safe natural healing therapies. That's my take on it. Be patient. Seek medical help that is on the right track. You'll heal in time. You have to stay positive, girl, and that is very, very important! Have faith! It is a lifelong illness that you can get some relief from through proper diet but there is no cure. Like myself, your body reacted very quickly. There is hope, please don't give up hope - unfortunately it could take you longer to recover than it did to get sick. You're still in shock from everything that's happened and you just want to be normal again, and there's nothing anyone can say that will ease your pain, but I want to give you hope. So many of us have gotten our lives back after this nightmare, and I truly believe you will get your life back, too. I remember being where you are now - I couldn't sleep, my body trembled as I lie in bed, my joints were swelling, my muscles were aching, my fingers and toes were numb, I had the most horrible headache every day and my brain fog was awful. The veins in my fingers throbbed, my blood pressure was high, and I had digestive problems. I had heartburn every single day. My marriage was falling apart, and I lost my job. It was the worse time of my life. Now people tell me that I have a glow that I never had before, and I think that glow came from wisdom, and from losing something that I took for granted and thankfully getting most of it back (my health). Guest guest Posted February 13, 2007 Report Share Posted February 13, 2007 Gretchen, if you believe that's the case, then you're doing the right thing by checking it out with Dr. Kolb. The joint pain everywhere is probably triggered by the implants that you had - my joint pain got worse after the explant and got better about 6 months post explant. The second surgery probably further weakened your immune system, plus the anesthesia isn't great for our bodies and just added to the toxins in your body. However, only you know what's right for you and it's better to investigate it with Dr. Kolb than continue to get sicker, especially if there is something she can do to help. Your immune system is probably still freaking out from the implants, and she might be able to do something to help calm it down. The only time it's shown up lately was when they had me using a had cycle in preparation for my hand therapy. . . Five minutes exhausted the muscles in my neck/shoulder until my hand was weaker post-exercise than before. Even my massage therapist says that my muscles don't feel like those of someone with FM anymore. It's taken a lot of work to get here though!
