Guest guest
Hi all, I wanted to say thank you so much for your prayers for Lil' Deb and for Tucker. Pretty traumatic experience for her (if she remembered most of it, then she would probably never go in the outside stairwell again...I know that I can not go there yet and all I did was find her!!). Tucker seems to be doing ok with this whole thing except that I got a little gruff with him for not coming and telling me what had happened (he thought I would be mad at him that she fell...which makes me feel like I must of done something wrong for him to be afraid to come to me...grrrrrrr.....bad daddy...bad, bad daddy). Had to go back and tell him how proud I was of him for not freaking out like daddy did (when I found him and asked where Lil Deb was, he was at the top of the steps staring down at her and told me " daddy, here is Lil' Deb " ). Very upsetting to see her body twisted the way it was and her head looked totally disconnected from her neck (can't get that image out of my head) as well as her hips twisted over the rest of her body. Don't think I have EVER seen any one so blue before (think of the brightest blue bag you get from the grocery store, and that was her color, then throw in purple lips and one eye wide open, one half closed and no color to her open eye...completely dialated...unbelieveable sight to see). I truly thought she was going to be paralyzed, if not that we would lose her. I did not know what to do, but HAD to move her head a little to get oxygen going again...it was too obvious she just could not breathe at all. I thank God for the CNA that lives down the street...she heard me on the phone with 911 when she drove past with her car window down. So thankful the weather has been VERY warm and that she had her window open!!! Little miracles like that happened throughout this entire ordeal (which to me makes it one HUGE miracle from God). The first paramedic on the scene (he was there 15 minutes before the ambulance!!) was actually someone that knows Lil' Deb from the hospital they work at!!!! When I got a hold of Deb Lundquist (McPixie), her minister was there at their house (a little on the unusual side for him to be there) and immediately began praying. I know that prayer works, because if you saw what I saw, and to see Lil' Deb walking (albeit slowly) this morning, you would know EXACTLY what I am saying. (Thanks Deb!! and thanks for getting the word out to everyone like you did!!!!). I also called Tuckers school because I felt a counselor there should talk to him. He and I were both pretty much interrogated by the police and CID because they thought perhaps there was foul play involved. Thankfully the police were pretty nice to him throughout, although they were scaring the bijiminey's out of me. Anyway, Tucker seems EXTREMELY stable with the whole thing right now except for a small nightmare the night before last. Lil Deb slept most of the day yesterday in the family room and all night last night and the night before. As the house woke up this morning, she moved upstairs to her bedroom on the 3rd floor which has me scared as heck that she will fall down the steps there too (thankfully, no cement, all carpet, right?). She is in EXCELLENT spirits too, and joking around. They said she can not go back to work til after the 11th, which will give her some much needed rest time here at home, and get that iron into her system. That's the facts and the update on her. Again folks, thanks do much for your thoughts and prayers. A more wonderful group of family and friends one could not ask for! Luv and hugs to all! ~~Tom Sincerely, Tom (TMExecDir@...)
