Guest guest
Thanks for all the great information! My grey is incredibly hard to cover.... My stylist used a semi-permanent color on mine for the most part because it was less damaging. But, it didn't last more than two weeks or so. My non-grey hair is very dark. When the color starts to wash out it turns a very coppery yucky color. Right now I have about 5 inches of regrowth and the rest is that color. It's pretty scary lookin. It grows painfully slow however so, I guess I might not look normal for years to come if ever! When I was on Armour, it seemed like it was getting softer. Armour did not take care of my other symptoms though like the synthroid has. I seem to be in " shed " mode again since starting the synthroid. About three months ago. Maybe its just time to shed for me though. Who knows. Looking back I can only recall a handfull of haircuts. I always liked my hair long. And because it always grew slow, I avoided even trimming it. Its taken me a year and a half to get those five inches of regrowth. frustrating..... chriss.
Guest guest
Chris- A semi color or demi color will not cover a streak like yours. Permanent color will usually do the trick. In a few cases I have had to pretreat the area first with pure pigment without developer, then go directly with color but at the hands of a trained professional. Grow out of color is tough - I am sure if you decide you don't want to color anymore, this summer it will lighten up even more. A tought to keep in mind is this: having 5" of healthy hair in my opinion is much better than have 10" of hair and 5 of them looking bad. Keep in mind when hair gets below our shoulders - all it will do is hang. Even if you don't get a great look at yourself from behind - others do, and split ends do not repair themselves, you must cut them off. I am not an advocate of short hair at all, I just am an advocate of attractive healthy hair at any length. I also believe it is important to find a style that will work with your hair texture that you will be able to fix with minimal amount of time and make you look your best with your features. cindy Thanks for all the great information! My grey is incredibly hard to cover....My stylist used a semi-permanent color on minefor the most part because it was less damaging. But, it didn't last more than two weeks or so.My non-grey hair is very dark. Guest guest
Can I trouble you with my dilemma? I suffer from the bangs vs. no bangs doubt. While my stylist is a great colorist, she is not assertive enough to tell me what she thinks is best. I've asked her the bangs vs. no bangs thing and she gives me the evasive " both look good " . I've been to another stylist who said that the bangs were a big mistake and they made me look horrible. So if I posted a photo here with my hair all back so you could see my features, would you give me your opinion on which is best: shorter bangs, longer bangs I can put to to the sides, or one-lenght hair? Guest guest
I'll add a thought, if that's okay....? I can never decide that question either... what I do when I cut my hair, I cut the front myself now.... I cut the bangs to just above my eyes.. then I feather them.... that way I can where them down like bangs and I really like the soft edge to them that way... or I can comb them to the sides and blow dry for a layered look... I think it's much more versatile that way... AND it would give you a change to go back and forth between the two to see which folks that see you in real like think about it..... Guest guest
Sure you can post a pic. Bangs are a big deal for us hairdresser. It takes so darn long to grow them out, that we hate to just cut them out to go thru the whole process again and the risk you may not like them. Women with small forheads do not necessarily need bangs. However, women that have a large forehead, may need some. Sometimes they will help oval out a face. They can help with lift on top. Some women like them if they want to conceal forehead lines. I would like to see a pic with you also with bangs and with out. I would be glad to give you my opinion. Honestly.
