The Maker's Diet is worth many times that! . . . Rubin considers the diet a 40 Day plan to health . . . I wouldn't go that far because so many of our women are so sick. But it certainly will speed healing along. Rogene

Krista,Lots of our women have read The Maker's Diet . . . and many have followed it to one extent or another. . . Personally, I consider it a goal rather than an absolute . .. But then I'm doing well now. If I were sick and searching for answers, that's where I would start. You can follow Rubin's diet protocol online - for a small subscription. . . He has meals planned by a master chef. . . Lynn subscribed and followed his program. Even her hubby liked the food. She copied a bunch of recipes, then dropped her subscription, but the last I heard, she was planning to resubscribe. Rubin have a 30 minute program on one of the religious channels TPN? . . . on Tuesdays around noon. His chef

demonstrates healthy cooking methods. I don't know if it's still on, but it probably is.Nutrition is the foundation of health . . . Rubin has it figured out. . . I'm not so sure implanted women can attain perfect health in only forty days . . . but it's certainly going to get one well on their way towards much better health. I'm afraid implanted women have other toxic issues that must be handled as well. . . That may take longer. Primal Defense is a HSO . . . That's one of the products we recommend constantly. . . Outstanding! Hugs,Rogene

Hi Krista, I haven't read that book but I did order the shopper's

guide one and I'm waiting for it in the mail.

Hi Krista,

I read the Maker's Diet and Patient, Heal Thyself. I only lasted 10

days on the 40 day challenge! My sister and I started it together

and we both bailed around the same time. I did try many of his

products...Primal Defense (HSO), Goatein, Calcium Living, Organic

Coconut Oil and I bought RM-10 but have yet to use it. The only

things I still use are the oil and the calcium.

I did the things he suggested like installing a water filter and

staying out of swimming pools. Also, for about 20 days I walked each

day and made sure I got sunlight but as I felt better, I started

doing more chores and errands...I need to get back into it.

I also did his synergy smoothies without the raw eggs and it helped

me gain weight...although for some reason I bloat now with the

Goatein. As far as diet, I haven't used his recipes but all I eat

are lean meats, fish and veggies which is pretty in line w/ what he

suggests.

I'm in Chicago still...my appt w/ Mercola is this afternoon. I'll

let everyone know how it goes. I left a comment on your MySpace

early this am. Love, PH

Rogene- Yeah, I can see where it would be more of a goal rather then

an absolute. I was telling my hubby last night that it would be very

difficult to change my diet so drastically, after having the same

diet for 30 years. That worries me. But, I think I'm definitely

interested in working towards eating more like how he recommends.

The book goes into a great deal of detail about how nutrition, diet

and GI tract effect so many aspects of your overall health, which was

very intersesting. But, yes I too believe that implants women need

extra help. I was thinking of continuing with the foot bath and

starting some type of diet like the one Jordan talks about and see

how I do with that.

Good to know that Primal Defense is one of HSO's he was talking

about, I was pretty sure it was something that had already been

brought up on the forum.

Thanks for all the advice, Rogene.

Hi PH, I have an appt tonight with my naturopath. I'm finding the no

sugar diet hard! What would you suggest eating? I have a myspace too.

I don't have your e mail address anymore but I wanted to send you a

link for my profile. If you have mine still you can send yours to me.

Krista if you read this I want to add you too!

Hey PH- I saw your sweet comment on my myspace, thank you! It made me

smile first thing this morning!

So, just out of curiosity, why do you think you and your sis only

last 10 days on the diet? I want to give it a shot, but I'm a little

worried. Also, did the Primal Defense help you at all? I don't want

to spend a bunch of money on supplements if they're not going to

help, you know what I mean? But, I am definitely interested in eating

the way that Jordan recommends. Seems my biggest hurdle to jump over

right now is my digestive system. I feel like it is just a mess!

Well, have a wonderful visit with Dr.Mercola's clinic and I'll talk

to you soon!

Hey Krista,

Well, I think it was more fatigue than anything for me not sticking

with the diet. When my sister dropped out I was a little

disappointed but then relieved because it got me off the hook.

I'm not much of a cook and so what I do a lot is go to Wild Oats and

buy freshly made organic juices and a huge salad. I also make my own

juices at home. In the evenings my husband will cook but it's hard

to make meals that all four of us will enjoy. The kids aren't big

salad eaters although they're starting to do better. The youngest is

the pickiest darn eater ever (but his smile would malt your

heart)...so it's hard to balance it all. Your future kids will be so

lucky in that you will have such good healthy habits under your belt

and they'll grow up automatically liking veggies!

Anyway, I'm all for getting back into the routine and if you or

anyone else want to try the 40 day challenge, I'll do it with you.

Yes, my biggest hurdle is digestion too. I've struggled w/ it for 6

years. I tried the Primal Defense and was fine on it but for some

reason I do best with Enzymatic Pearls. PD has many more strains

though which should be more beneficial...I don't get it! I am going

to start making my own kefir eventually. Love, PH

PH- I'd love to have a partner to do the 40 day challenge with! If

you are serious, I am all in! When would be a good time to start?

Should we wait till after the holidays? I have family coming out for

Christmas and I'm pretty sure they aren't going to want to eat what

I'm eating!

Yeah, I'm definitely in and yes, I think it'd be best to wait til

after the holidays. I always have more motivation at the first of

the year. And too, you're right about the holiday guests not wanting

to eat the same. My family tries but they still need their wine,

bread and cheese! - PH

Steph- Sounds like it all went great! So glad that he thinks you are

on the right track because that means that I'm on the right track too!

My foot bath is a Christmas present too (from my hubby.) He's going to

wrap it and put in under the tree and everything! Hehehe! Make sure

and give your Mom the link to the Oasis store on Ebay. That's where

she'll find the best deals.

Stephie . . . I suspect part of the overwhelming feeling is a result of a systemic fungal problem. . . That makes everything difficult. . . It will get easier as you find healthy foods you really enjoy.Concentrate on what you can eat, not what you can't . . . Whole grains, virtually all veggies, beans, nuts, eggs, limited fruit (for the time being), healthy oils, and small portions of meat. Also, Kefir, yogurt, sauerkraut, tea, smoothies, etc. Raw milk is preferred. But, unless you have a problem with milk, small amounts won't hurt. The major no-no is sugar. After that comes refined grains and processed foods. The Maker's Diet lists many foods . . . The job is figuring out how

to combine them into interesting meals.Hugs,Rogene

Great tips, Rogene and they seem so simple to do but so worthwhile

for our health! Love, PH

>

> I know I promote The Maker's Diet mercilessly . . However, from

what I've seen, people seldom stick to any diet they make a fast

transition to. . . . The foods taste strange, they aren't used to

preparing them, they yearn for the old foods. . . All this adds up to

stress that makes going back to the old ways very inviting.

>

> I think it's better to gradually change your eating habits . . .

Look at the worst offenders and find things to replace them

first. . . Find healthy foods you truly enjoy. . . As they become

part of your food routine, start experimenting with other healthy

foods. It will take longer, but you'll eventually find a happy medium

where your diet is more healthy than not - and you won't feel

deprived.

>

> Sometimes I think I'm not eating very healthy . . . Then I look at

the food people are checking out at the grocery store, and realize

how far I've come. . . Gone are the baked goods, the chips, the

sodas, the canned goods, the processed junk . . . all those empty

foods that people are so fond of.

>

> Some changes that require some planning, but produce better taste

are avoiding the microwave, steaming (rather than boiling veggies),

adding raisins, walnuts, grapes, dried cranberries, crushed garlic,

feta cheese, avocado, strawberries, etc. to salads.

>

> I find myself disgusted by flavorless boiled veggies when we eat

out. . . Steamed has so much more flavor, texture and color.

>

> If you're accustomed to defrosting by microwave, you can put food

in the refrigerator the night before, or defrost in the oven on warm.

>

> Look for brown rice . . . flavor will be a little different, white

rice becomes flavorless. . . Same with pasta. . . Whole grain breads,

with the crunchy grains are great! . . . Spread a little coconut oil

on your bread and toast on a pancake grill, or under the broiler. . .

Even better with a little garlic added.

>

> Trader Joe's has an excellent goats milk cream cheese - in

season. . . Not available when goats are nursing.

>

> Switching to sea salt is easy . . . so is using good oils. . . .

virgin coconut oil may have too much coconut flavor for some things,

but you can use the lower grade if necessary.

>

> Kefir makes an excellent base for herbal spreads . . . as well as

fruit smoothies.

>

> You can switch from sodas to herbal teas served iced or hot . . .

>

> The main thing is that you find foods you really enjoy . . . the

others will go by the wayside naturally.

I'm glad also that my insurance covered the visit. I just had to pay

my co-pay which is only $10. I feel now that I'm getting something

accomplished and I'm headed in the right direction. I have another

foot bath session today at 12:00.

That's what my naturopath said too. He told me to start off by

cutting out all sugar, junk foods, and soda...which I had already

done. Then start eat more veggies and healthier food. He said that

green apples once in a while are fine too. I had my second foot bath

this afternoon and so far I don't feel bad like I did last

time...just a little tired.

Steph,

What did your naturopath say about cutting out sugar? Are you going

on a yeast free diet? Did you give you a certain diet to use? I had

never realized how cutting out sugar means cutting a out LOT of

foods. Are you taking caprylic acid or did he give a prescription?

Thanks for the info,

Cherie

Jenn- You can always put your profile on private, so that only

friends you add can see your profile, it keeps unwanted people from

seeing your profile. A lot of people do that. Hope you get one so you

can join us! Thanks for saying that about me, that's so sweet!

Cherie,You'll find that cutting out sugar cuts out a lot of PROCESSED food. . . Sugar is added to processed food to make up for the flavor lost in processing and preserving. . . and to feed little nasty fungals! If you stick to freshly prepared foods, you won't run into much sugar at all.Hugs,Rogene

Steph,

I know you'll do it . . . just try not to stress over it. . .

Being sick is tremendous motivation!

Think lifetime change! . . . done one day at a time.
