Guest guest
Hi, This list is so helpfull to me. I am now agressively repositioning Niels and hope I'll get to see some result soon. I've found many handy tips which I'm using. I sewed three receiving rolled up towels onto his PJ's and it works better than just put something behind his back. I sometimes put a travel blow up pillow behind his head and let him sit in the saucer a lot. I also carry him everywhere and have enough tummy time a day. Unfortunately his twin brother gets much less attention lately. I am paranoid about his head shape and keep feeling the shape of it at night or any given time, I am kissing it and wishing for it to round out, even if it were just a little bit. I really hope repo is going to work for us since over here there's nothing else available. I am seeing a pediatrician next week and will demand from him that he does some researching, will give him this website. I also ordered the bumbo baby seat, can't wait for it to arrive. My mum is sending me a sleep positioner and neckpillow. Poor Niels doesn't know what hit him, all of a sudden no more back time and he's not happy about it at all. I wish there were more success repo stories on this list, then again I guess I have to be more patient and keep trying, I'm sure some rounding will come from it. Not ready to post pictures yet, I am still a bit too embarassed for that. Kind regards, Sofie
Guest guest
Sofie, I am so glad you posted! I have been thinking of you and Niels since your last post. I looked and looked on the internet for any plagio or brachy information in the Dubai, UAE area, and could find nothing, I'm sorry! It's still possible that the pediatrician might know of helmets available over there; if you find out at your next appt., would you please let us know so that I could add it to the HELMET/BAND DATABASE? I couldn't even begin to guess what the nearest country would be that you would have to travel to for cranial molding helmets and bands, I'm so sorry. I only know about Dr. Blecher's treatment in England/Germany/Switzerland. Not a long time ago, we had a parent join from Malta, who had no options either - there were no helmets for plagio available in her country, so she was going to just reposition her baby as best she could, just as you are doing! I am so glad that you have found some helpful posts and info for aggressive repo here at the group. I admire you for being so dedicated to repo with twins, nonetheless!! I hope the Bumbo and the sleep positioner your mom is sending will be of help. Repo CAN work! Even a little bit of rounding makes a BIG difference in how the baby's head appears, so I am keeping my fingers crossed for you and Niels! Just like CJ who posts appeared a little while ago with a memory foam update, it may take several weeks before you start to notice a change. Would you keep in touch on how things are going with you all? Take care, Christie (Mom to Repo'd Remy) > Hi, > > This list is so helpfull to me. Guest guest
Hi Sofie, I'm glad you find the group helpful! :-) Please don't be embarrassed to post pictures of Niels. There isn't anything to be embarrassed about, his plagio isn't your fault. Please let us know when you receive your Bumbo and what you think of it. Good luck repoing and please keep us posted on Niel's progress. > Hi, > > This list is so helpfull to me. I am now agressively repositioning > Niels and hope I'll get to see some result soon. Guest guest
Hi Sofie, It's unfortunate that you have no alternatives other than repositioning to help your son, but I think you're a terrific mom (mum) to jump into repositioning right away like you have. Ours is not a success story yet, but I posted some pictures I took this morning for you to see. They are in the repo photo file under P. We've been repositioning him for 3 months. We began in late November just after he turned 4 months old. I think we've made good progress so far! While it is a long, hard road, please know that you are not alone. There are many of us out there! I can relate to you kissing and feeling Niels' head. Sometimes I find myself looking at as if he were under a microscope. I don't want my paranoia to rub off on him, so I have to be careful he doesn't notice his head obsessed mom! Good luck with your repositioning efforts. Please keep us posted!
