Janet,

We ended up treating our daughter Remy's plagio with aggressive

repositioning only. Her progress photos are in the PHOTOS section,

BEFORE AND AFTER folder, REPOSITIONED folder if you are interested.

Before we made our final decision to repo only (after we had been

repo'ing for 3 months), we did get a referral to ped neuro Dr.

Pittman at the University of Kentucky. Although lukewarm to

the idea of helmeting and banding, he did write us a prescription

for one, and gave us an info/directions packet for the Center for

Orthotic and Prosthetic Care in New Albany, IN. I think everyone in

Kentucky is sent to this same facility. I also found another

facility within driving distance in Indianapolis, IN called Advanced

OrthoPro. After evaluating these two options, our personal decision

was to give repo a try until Remy was 8 months old (we ended up just

continuing with the repositioning.) I strongly urge you to email

anyone who has listed their email address for these locations in the

HELMET/BAND DATABASE in the DATABASE sectionof the group. The

nearest DOCband facility was approx. 6 hours away in Cleveland. I

have also since found out that there is Hanger facility in

Louisville that offers the Starband and Hanger Cranial Band. I

spoke with the orthotist there myself, who has a strong interest in

cranial banding, but hasn't done too many of them at the time I

spoke with him.

to evaluating your helmet/band options!
