A good visit with new neurologist!!

Hi all!

Just had to report on my first visit to my new neurologist this morning. It was much easier talking to this one; he was open to everything I said, he sounded interested, and more than anything else, he viewed the MRI's and said yes, definite Chiari -- and -- the entire right side of the cerebellum is malformed at the back. So not just the " droopy cerebellum " . He pointed out what he was talking about, and I told him I had asked the first neuro about that, but his reaction was " it's normal " . He also said that this is all why my migraines are worsening. (The first one said " no way " .) So he is taking my case before three neurosurgeon partners in town, and see what they think. He does think that I might benefit from decompression, but he also cautioned me to think about the decision hard. He performed all the little reflex tests and I am much weaker on the right side (the side of the " drooping cerebellum " ). I guess I feel more comfortable with him because he didn't treat me as a neurotic like the first neuro did (before even ordering an MRI!). I think I can work with this one! He said it could take some time to get an answer out of these three neurosurgeons -- I never even knew about two of them! One of them just moved from Seattle and another from somewhere else........I can't remember.

So I am so glad I listened to quite a few of you, who kept saying " find another doctor " -- I can't believe the difference in treatment between the first and the second one! Like night and day! Keep you posted on " things " .
