Guest guest
Want to hear something bizarre that might be worth trying? While I was sick with the cold/flu... I took Nyquil at bedtime and I slept through the whole night and all my pain. I also slept with the pillows propped up so that I was practically sleeping in a sitting up position. Maybe about a 45 degree angle. These were the best sleeps I can remember in a very long time. I'm tempted to try it again on my restless nights, which I don't get as many of as I hear others do. I don't recommend taking Nyquil every single night at bedtime, but it's worth a shot when you're at your absolute wits end and have tried everything else. If you do try this, please make sure you read all the warnings on the label, especially regarding heart problems, diabetes, etc. Please please please... And as suggested... SALONPAS ... WOOOO HOOOOO... that stuff has been a god send to me. mucho hugs and I hope you feel better soon . gentle healing hugs, Norah --Norah Bleazard - Burlington, Ontario Canadawww.bleazard.net ~ www.janorlites.comE-MAIL=norah.fibroyahoo@...CHAT=MSN = black_dak_98@...Yahoo = drazaelbnAIM = black98dakICQ = 105346330Site Moderator for: fibromyalgia_support_group Site Owner for:Fibromites_Fighting_Weight:http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Fibromites_Fighting_Weighthttp://fibromites.ath.cx
Guest guest
I wish I could help you but I really don't know of anything to do besides what you are already doing. I really don't have " flares " as seems to be typical of people with fibromyalgia. My pain seems to just stay at a steady level 24/7. I do hope that you are able to find some relief soon though. N. Anyone have > any more ideas for a REALLY BAD FLARE?? I
Guest guest
, I am so much better at being there for others than asking for help. This group has been the best thing for me though. I felt like the only sick person in the world even though I knew I wasn't. I am doing a bit better today. I saw my Dr today and she gave me some Ultram which has helped some. I have used Salonpas and they help a bit. I can't take Tylenol PM because the dyphenhydramine in it interferes with one of my meds and makes me just WIRED! I do feel better after a bath, but I try to do that only when my dh is here to help me back out-- just in case. Thanks for the advise. Guest guest
More than once I took the "Nyquil cure" before I knew what was ailing me - its a pretty good stop gap measure but might be a bad idea with other meds or antidepressants (alcohol). I've also noticed however, FM sometimes takes a holiday during a cold or the flu = like the immune system gets distracted or something. While it is wonderful to share our experiences with everyone on the list as to what treatments do and don't work for us, pls always check with your dr. Some treatments are dangerous when given along with other meds as well as to certain health conditions or just dangerous in general.2. If you are in a difficult situation (doesn't matter what it is) pls don't be afraid to ask for help. It is the first step to trying to make that situation better.Have a nice day everyone.
