I now eat one meal a day and thats about it. Havent taken the weight off though:(> I just finished tapering off Lexapro a couple of months ago. I was also on Effexor XR. I gained weight just like you, I don't know why the Doc put you on the Effexor because this drug really caused me to gain weight I went from 110 up to 140lbs myself. It didn't matter how much I exercised or didn't eat I couldn't get rid of the

weight problem. I've finally tapered off both of these drugs, Lexapro and Effexor Xr. Now my weight is down to 113lbs, but it took alot of hard work and discipline to come off these drugs slowly and eat right and exercise. I do hope you are lucky to avoid the withdrawal symptoms of the Effexor. I had the skin crawling sensations as well. I wish you the best and remember your not alone if anything should happen. Sounds like several lf us here have been on the Effexor hell and have managend to live through it. Take good care of yourself. I'm sure we'll touch base from time to time. Hugs V ! hi tonie,

i read your post and saw you are 8 days off almost a cold turkey

withdrawal of effexor. if i were you, i would go back on effexor and

wean off at 5% to 10% dose reductions from each subsequent amount

(not the initial amount but each subsequent amount). i can not

empahsize the importance of this. YOU ONLY HAVE A SMALL WINDOW OF

TIME TO GO BACK ON THE EFFEXOR. if you wait too long to try to back

on to taper off, it might not work and you might only feel worse. i

am telling you this as a person who went cold turkey off zoloft

almost 10 months ago. i lost everything. i lost my job and nearly my

life and had to move in with my parents i have been so ill. and the

worst part of my withdrawawl did not start until weeks after i quit

cold turkey and then when i tried to go back on the zoloft, my body

got very sick and i had to go to the emergency room. as excited as

you are to have effexor " leave your system " , please know that the

real danger is the abrupt withdrawal of the drug, not the drug

itself. it throws the body in total chaos. i honestly believe my

purpose of suffering so much might be to warn others like you not to

do what i did. when people go cold turkey, it can take years, not

months, but years to fully recover. please reconsider.

love,

ct
