Personally, I don't worry about what anyone thinks. I'm a whopping 320

lbs. and only 5'4 " tall. I am fat, and I'm going to do whatever I need

or want to do regardless of what the rest of the world may think. You

have to do what you want and don't worry about society. They don't

worry about us either. They aren't there when we need a kind word, a

hug, a shoulder to lean on, or a friendly ear. If your husband is fine

with how you look.. then accept it. is happy with me and couldn't

care less what weight I am and he's not thin either. He's starting to

lose his hair and has a nice pot belly. In fact.. I like to use his

soft cushy tummy as a pillow when we watch TV.

The road to success begins with acceptance. We expect everyone to

accept us for who we are, but many are too afraid to accept

themselves. All I can say is that this is sad. We are who we are. I

don't accept judgments from anyone. If someone makes a rude comment to

me... I blow them a kiss and walk away. Usually that flusters them and

even embarrasses them. But no matter... I will continue to go to the

gym, put on my bathing suit and go to the pool. Society couldn't care

less about us, so why should we care about them? I love my hubby even

tho he has a gut and losing his hair, and he loves me no matter how ill

or how fat. It just doesn't matter. Love is from the heart... not the

eyes. I say... take the love and cuddle up to it... society won't offer

you the same comfort as that of a loving touch and hug. Society won't

be there when we grow old and sick (or sicker). Society won't offer a

warm bed and a friendly ear. I have low regard for society and the

media that created it.

I've grown tough in my years and all my therapy helped me to learn to

accept myself and love myself for who I am. Now I just want to be as

healthy as possible because I'm a very greedy person. I want to live as

long as I can so that I can spend every moment available with the ones

that I love. The ones that do not judge me, the ones that are always

there for me and will love me no matter what. This is what truly

counts. All those gorgeous people won't be so gorgeous once they age

and/or get sick. Then who will love them? If I had to choose between

money, fame, great looks and health... well... um... HEALTH!!!!!

Ok.. that's my rant on weight and what others think. Sorry.. I just

can't help myself... it took me such a long fight with myself and

therapy to get where I am today and I'm happy with it. I no longer

judge myself and hopefully I don't judge others either. I am ME...

NORAH... take me as I am. :-)

positive hugs,

Norah

AMEN. I'm overweight. I had gastric bypass surgery in 1998 not for

cosmetic reasons but because I was unhealthy. I got pregnant 2x after that,

the first time 3 months after surgery. I am 120lbs lighter than I was when

I had the surgery and I STILL weigh 250. So, some people stare at me and

I'm just like you. I may be fat, as the bumper sticker says, but you're

ugly and I can always loose weight. haha.

I think that's an excellent idea! Do you have a chain store near you

called " Play It Again Sports " ? If you do, you will be shocked to

find that astronomically priced equipment marked down to a

ridiculously lower price because of those who bought it and never

used it! If I could stand the walking, I'd have on in front of my TV

and wear only my underwear! LOL

Good luck - don't be embarrassed (I know, easier said than done).

That look of love in your eye when you look at your husband and he

returns the same look will make all the other women wish they were so

lucky!

XOXO
