Guest guest Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 Well I am going through the paxil withdrawal right now. When they ran the labs I felt kinda tired and well yucky and I did read that can affect the test. I am not sure if the is true or not but I wanted to ask you guys. I am in my second week of withdrawal and made small drops of 2.5 mg each time and did another drop as I felt stable. Then I ran out of pills and couldn't get anymore cause the doctor only had the 12.5 CR samples and I was at 2.5 mg regular. Yesterday I had my first really happy good day but the night was so bad I didn't know what to do. But today I just have a headache from crying and lack of sleep. I am trying to get my self together and much better but it takes time I guess and this group has helped me beyond words could ever express. I am only on the follow things to help my body get back on track. Chromium GTF: to help control my sugar A multi vit/with super green foods to provide full body health " The product is called ECO Green from "Now" Saw Palmetto for the excess hair which I have been taking for about 2 months and the hair has decreased so much I only have to deal with it once a day unlike before it was about 3 times a day I had to remove it. Getting ready to start Vitex to balance my hormones Thinking about starting GLA complex to help get my body back in balance. I am eating more organic foods and even work at a health food store now. But I want to post this I do not in anyway suggest anyone taking any of these herbal supplements for any reason without talk to or someone else who has the knowledge who can advise you in the right way that to take the right supplements for your body. ( I hope I worded that right) Quote

Guest guest Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 No I could get no more paxil and I won't have any more money till after the 15th of this month. I am on s.s. and my bills claimed it all this month. The herbs I get I get free for working part time at the herbal store cause they don't pay me money. So I can get what every is on the shelf. Is cod live oil the same as the fish oil you are talking about? My doctor wants to send me to an endocrinologist or something like that. From the prolactin elevation. An herbalist told me not to bother going since my body is healing and getting in balance on its own with Vit I maybe low on in my body. since July I have come off depakote and weaned very slowly under two doctors and was off it the end of Sept. off my glucophage by Oct or Nov and off paxil by 12-27-05 the paxil while on it was making me feel panicie and things looked strange and I do feel better now in a way than I did on it. But I am in a depressed state most of the time. And when not depressed I feel lost or my memory is messed up and then I panic kinda a feel That I am here but I am not feeling. Very lonely feeling as well. I am wondering if the fish oil you are talking about may help with that or is it the omegas that help? Quote
Guest guest Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 Should a person get lots of sleep when going through this? I was always told that to much sleeping is bad for you. G Quote
Guest guest Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 Does anyone know if withdrawaling from paxil can cause a woman prolactin levels to go up. I just got some new labs back the doctors are freaking me out and I feel like I wanna cry and have a panic attack at the same time. They said that my levels should be at 29.2 or lower and my level is 29.4 and I am freaking... Could this be the paxil that made it go so high? Any help would be great.. G Quote
Guest guest Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 Thanks everyone for all the help. And I will see what I can get from the health store I work at to get my body on the right healing track. G Quote
Guest guest Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 <<Does anyone know if withdrawaling from paxil can cause a woman prolactin levels to go up... and my level is 29.4 and I am freaking... Could this be the paxil that made it go so high?>> Yes, the use of these drugs and the withdrawal can elevate prolactin levels. It's quite common, in fact. Are you on anything besides Paxil? The doctors are probably concerned because some of the the things that can cause elevated prolactin are fairly serious--but they won't find any of those things, becasue it's caused by the hormone imbalances brought on by withdrawal. No need to freak. Where are you in your withdrawal? I know you probably just told me, but we just got a slew of new members and it's hard to keep people straight. Stick with our program here, of proper diet, appropriate supplements, and slow withdrawal, and you will be fine. Regards, Kim co-moderator Quote
Guest guest Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 Have another read through the files on the supplements, you are missing a few or maybe you just didn't put them in your email?? The ones I am thinking of are fish oil, magnesium, calcium etc, are you taking these? A drop from 2.5mg of paxil to nothing is an awful lot hun? You take care. Love Quote
Guest guest Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 Hi , Were you able to get any more Paxil? Did you contact the pharmacy about paying for it yourself in small amounts? I really think it's unwise to put your body through this unless you absolutely have to. People who go through abrupt withdrawal from Paxil suffer for years. It isn't pretty. You really, really need to get some magnesium citrate and some Carlson's liquid fish oil. If you can't find them locally, use the link at the bottom of this post to order them at Vita-cost, which has excellent prices. Rather than spending your money on Vitex and GLA, spend it on getting more Paxil and on the nutrients recommended here. There is absolutely no sense in trying to " fix " your hormones with an herb until your body has restored itself to some kind of balance. It needs basic nutrients to do that. Herbs are apt to cause more problems than they solve at this stage of the game. I cannot emphasize enough the importance of providing your body with the nutrients it needs to heal from the withdrawal. You also need to be eating appropriately, according to the article " Eating for Recovery " in the Files. Regards, Kim co-moderator -- Visit my art blog at http://kimdenise.blogspot.com/. Guest guest Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 Fish oil--Carlson's brand in particular--is recommended because it is the best source of Omega-3 fatty acids, in the form that is most easily used by our bodies. We get plenty of Omega-6 and Omega-9 fatty acids in our diets--it's the Omega-3s that we really need. A high-quality cod liver oil is okay, but fish oil is preferable, and Carlson's brand is best of all. Get magnesium citrate as well. Magenesium does a world of good, and it has a lovely calming effect in most people. Does your store carry Garden of Life products? If you can get those, that would be great!! They're very good quality. Start with their Living Multi and their Perfect Food. <<But I am in a depressed state most of the time. I am wondering if the fish oil you are talking about may help with that or is it the omegas that help? >> The fish oil does have the Omega-3s, and it surely will help with these things over time. You won't notice a difference right away, but your healing will go much better overall. These are all classic symptoms of withdrawal. You will probably have them for quite a while because of the abrupt withdrawal. Also, you are probably feeling the effects of going off the Depakote so quickly (two months isn't a very long withdrawal, although most doctors would think it was far longer than needed). Doctors do not understand what these drugs do, nor do they know how to treat the damage they cause. They don't understand the withdrawal either. Doctors are trained to prescribe drugs. That's really about it. So if you want more drugs, keep going to doctors. Regards, Kim co-moderator -- Visit my art blog at http://kimdenise.blogspot.com/. Guest guest Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 > Should a person get lots of sleep when going through this? I was always told > that to much sleeping is bad for you. If you feel you need to sleep, then sleep. Your body does its best healing during sleep. You're likely to feel very tired for quite some time to come. It may not be too late for you to go back on the Paxil after the fifteenth. Then you can wean slowly and prevent some of the long-term damage. I'll check with about that. Quote
Guest guest Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 I remember that as one of the main things told me, sleep when you need to sleep for sleep is the way your body can heal itself. Wise words as always. > >Reply-To: Withdrawal_and_Recovery >To: Withdrawal_and_Recovery >Subject: Re: Re: another question >Date: Mon, 9 Jan 2006 19:04:50 -0500 > > > > Should a person get lots of sleep when going through this?
