Guest guest
Hello again :-) I've searched the archives and looked in our band/helmet data base and I'm coming up empty. It could be that no one here has ever used this place or it could be that this place has just started treating plagio babies. If the latter is the case please be sure to throughly interview the ortho. Experience is KEY!! I just looked at the list of FDA approved helmets/bands. First Step isn't on there, so either they are using a helmet that isn't FDA approved or they are using the STARband. My fingers are crossed that someone here has used them! Please let us know how you make you at your appt. > Hi- > > Has anyone had experience with First Step in Tulsa... they do > helmet/bands there. Guest guest
While I'm not an M.D. (though with all the stuff my son has been through, I could pass an MCAT today with flying colors!!!), I don't know if Botox would fix the problem, only because it isn't a permanent solution. Doesn't Botox only last a few months? As Botox paralyzes the muscle for a short time, perhaps it might help as long as you're also doing appropriate neck stretches, because the tightness has been relieved and it won't hurt your baby as much (if at all) when doing stretches. My son has right-side torticollis and we have to stretch his neck 8x a day. (HINT: when stretching, give kisses on the exposed side of the neck so your baby thinks you're giving them love and not torturing them. It makes my baby laugh hysterically and he has no idea that we're giving him therapy.) I'm interested in this angle of treatment, so if you go the Botox route, let us know the progress and outcome. ...Mom to Judah (DOCBand graduate 12/31/2003) Dallas, TX > Hi- > > Has anyone had experience with First Step in Tulsa... they do > helmet/bands there. Guest guest
, I hope you are able to find some answers and fast! Good Luck, how far are you from OKC or Dallas? In both of these cities are very plagio/tort friendly drs. and banding clinics. Dustie Dustie > Hi- > > Has anyone had experience with First Step in Tulsa... they do > helmet/bands there.
