They are filling and are just packed full of fiber and they barely raise my BG. I have also made the pink beans but they raise me up a little more and aren't quite as good anyway. I eat kidney beans in my winter vegetable soups, and don't notice much of a rise. I buy the " no salt added " kind, because it just has beans and water, no sugar or other stuff. I would imagine that black beans would raise bs a little more, as they seem a little sweeter, but I don't really know. A lot of people eat chana dal, which (I think) is some kind of bean?
