Dawn,

I am so glad to hear that you are able to get frequent thryoid checks as frustrating as that may be. My doctor is so anal about it that she won't even allow me to get generic thyroid meds. I also have high med bills even with insurance copays. My Synthroid, Celexa, and Neurontin are the ones I have to get brand for. That is $75 right there and that doesn't include all my generics which are $8 each. It isn't like we can just not take them. We have to make sacrifices in order to get our medication. That really stinks.

It is going to rain here. I can just tell it in my body. I am aching all over.

Hope you have a great day and as pain free as possible.

hugs,

Sundra

She said with other medications, such asantibiotics this usually doesn't make much difference"Hi Sundra,Yep... I hear you girl. I was told the same thing when I was officiallydiagnosed back in 1986. Unfortunately, I cannot afford Synthroid, though itis cheap as meds go. My copays for name brands are 25 a month, and I amalready on Depakote, Paxil, and a birth control pill... plus my genericmeds... I spend so much in docs and meds each month that I try to scrimp andsave when I can. So my generics are 10 for a month... I put up with thefluctuations, though it's annoying to constantly have to go to a lab to getblood draws on the TSH (which is free with my insurance, go figure). I wishwe'd get some kind of freaking health care in this country that allowed uswho really cannot afford all these meds to have like a $5 copay no matterwhat the insurance is... keep dreaming, right? Thanks for saying that though, because it may help others on the listbattling hypothyroidism! :)Hugs,Dawn in FL

Try paying for the meds out right folks... I just dream of the day that I could have a co pay so that I may get them.. the Celexa alone for a month is $89.00... for all the meds that I do have prescribed is $250.00 a month..... and I cant get them because I feel that feeding the children is so much more important... I know it is frustrating on both sides.... but I so wish I had your problems right now so that I may have the meds that I need. Hugs you and hope you all get what you need :)

Huggles you lots ;)

Sophia,

Been there done that and got the t-shirt. I had to pay cash for my meds up until June of this year. Mine ran really high when I paid cash for them. I may be in that boat again if my injured husband does not get to go back to work!

It sure isn't easy is it?? and It is getting harder and harder to be able to get the medicine that you need to try and be as healthy as you can. Tis a real shame.
