Guest guest
Hi , Happy belated birthday to ! I can't really say much about the foam though--I'm just not sure! It really doesn't seem like much, but yet it does work. Did you ask about it at your last appt? Hannah only wore her first band for 10 wks and got 10mm correction, but she was also only 4.5 mos old. Sorry I can't be much help. , mom to Hannah, DOCgrad Cape Cod, Ma --- In Plagiocephaly , " B. " <wbilling@t...> wrote: > I was wondering what other DOC users think of the following concern I have. We are on band #2 and already we are half way down the foam on the back right side. The two adjustments so far on the right have been for the purpose of doing some final shaping of the right side to make it symmetrical with the left. We have not even begun to address the brachy yet. How is the remaining space which seems like very little (esp. on the right) going to bring about this beautiful round head I am imagining. I'm starting to get a bit doubtful of band #2. I can't even imagine doing a third band---it just seems insane. turned one yesterday and already has been banded for 5 mos. total. When I read about other kids only wearing the band for 12 weeks and being done---I can't understand. How does that little inch of foam do the trick and make a flat head round? Is our case that different? > > B. > Mom to B. > STARBand drop out 8/03 > DOCBand #1 9/4/03 > DOCBand #2 12/18/03 > Miami
Guest guest
I'm sorry , I don't really understand, do you want to take a picture of the inside and post it for us to look at? natasha --- In Plagiocephaly , " B. Guest guest
HI - We also had to get two DOCbands and he was in them a total of 5 months as well. He outgrew them quickly (esp #1). A third band was not even an option for us. We didnt even mention it to CT and I really think he could use a little more correction but its kinda like will this ever end??? I just wanted him to be done and have somewhat of a normal first year. Not that he wasnt normal with the band but you know what I mean. I was looking at his baby book and in almost all the pictures he has his band on. He has been out of the band for about a month now and his head is still not perfect. He started with right side flattening and a bit of brachy. His head does look so much better than when we started but it sitll has a flat spot on the back and his ears are a little misaligned but I think I am the only one that really notices. Everyone else is always commenting on how much better his head looks. Good Luck! Donna and Xavier 9.5 months DOCgrad --- In Plagiocephaly , " B. Guest guest
Hi : Oh, I'm so so so sorry to hear how discouraged you are with 's progress right now. I am sorry I cannot answer your question about the amt of foam inside the DOCband. I would suggest you ask your clinician at your next appt. Try to keep your chin up, I know it's frustrating & very difficult at times I've been there. A happy belated 1st birthday to . I hope he enjoyed his big day. Let us know what you might find out about the foam if you ask your clinician. Keep us posted on his progress. Debbie Abby's mom MI --- In Plagiocephaly , " B.
