Guest guest
hi lynn, i also have herniated discs with sciatica. i have been wondering if there is a connection between the discs and the VV. i have just been diagnosed with VV, have not even started treatment yet. i do also have constipation but fiber laxatives helpwith that. i do not have anal fissures but i do often have bleeding from the anal tissue. seems like an irritation rather than a fissure. i am seeing a new doc about my back soon and plan to ask him if my VV couldbe caused by my back problems. i often have burning in the vulvar area, but it is more in the muscles than in the skin. kathy ________________________________________________________________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO! Guest guest
I realize the constipation fuels the anal fissures but I just cannot heal that area either. Sometimes It is imperative that you take a fiber supplement, I had constipation for years, still battle it, but have under control with supplements. I take psyllium(with no addes sugar or sweeteners) or a flax(milder) drink, and herbs as well. Lots of ice berg lettuce before dinner with raw carrots helps, and fuji apples and watermelon in the morning. My friend has been constipated, the fuji apples in the morning did the trick for her. Fruit in morning on empty stomach, no food for 45-60min later is a life saver. Psyllium etc never helped me till I started taking at night, around 8-8:30pm, read in a book this is good for chronic constipation, did the trick. ALso, magnesium is ESSENTIAL, also at night. 300-900 mg, experiment to see what you need. Twin labs brand is good. Cheap too. Jackie
Guest guest
Hi Lynn, I have been constipated all my life but it's worse now. I have had good luck with Swiss Kriss Herbal Laxitave. Recently I was on pain meds for my back and the constipation was terrible. I took a couple every night for about two months. No problems getting back on track after I went off of the pain pills. I make sure I have cereal every morning and I sprinkle bran cereal on top. I also have back, sciatica problems and anal burning. Hope some of this helps. Guest guest
Kathy, you sound just like me. I was diagnosed with sciatica from herniated disks in Feb. but had back problems for 2 years. I've had the constipation and " anal fissures " for a year. Now you're making me wonder if they were even fissures at all. My doctor sent me to a surgeon since he couldn't cure my fissures, and when the doctor looked, he said all I had was an old healing hemorrhoid, no fissures, no surgery necessary. It seems I have irritation as well, since I bleed often from having those god awful hard stools. I have tried everything to stop the hard stools, from salad every day to fruits to metamucil & citrucel to stool softener with laxative to anusol -- nothing. I even went to a gastro to see if the back was causing it, he took an MRI and said no, haven't heard from him since. So no conclusions or cures. But that's how I found out about the disks, though. Sad that my gastro finds more back issues than my reg. doc. But I swear I feel the skin tearing each time I have those hard BM's, which unfortunately are quite often and don't allow me to heal. I also have vaginal burning that seems to be more in the muscles than the skin. I have difficultly with entry during sex, and then that burning afterwards. Only I've had that for 9 years, so that throws the back theory for me. Maybe it's just adding to it, making it worse lately, not necessarily the cause. I started BCP way back those 9 years ago, and then had a string of yeast infections and took all those lovely creams that I bet didn't help. Sure wish I had a doctor who knew what they were doing to help me sort this out, the cause and a possible cure, or at least an alleviation. A last thought, no burning in the anal area, just those forever lasting fissures. But who knows, maybe it is the back doing this afterall... B. Guest guest
Hey Donna, what pain pills were you on that were making you constipated? Also, what kind of herb is the Swiss Kriss? I'm currently taking meds for Sciatica and could use the constipation/anal fissures relief!! Thanks, B In FL In a message dated 12/4/00 2:02:55 PM Eastern Standard Time, White4Art@... writes: > Hi Lynn, I have been constipated all my life but it's worse now.
