Grace, this is precisely why I will never, ever, ever have any remodeling

done in my home. If I want something done I will do it myself. (Which may

also relate to the blank look at your word " decor. " That was the word,

wasn't it? Perhaps my decor is titled " Functional. " Or it could be

" Messy. " Perhaps even " AUTISTIC CHILD LIVES HERE!!! " )

But I wish you the best of luck.

I should really clarify the word 'decor' used in my sense.

Please don't think that my house is DECORATED. There is just a

constant theme throughout the house. It is the farthest thing

from " decorated " . LOL

My walls are white, and the furniture is all simple. The theme is

more to the lines of a french country type of look, but without the

little things that make it charming, as those little things are

choking hazards or breakable glass, or chew toys for the kids.

I have only one coffeetable in the family room, and none in the

living room. I have a lamp in the living room and none in the family

room where the kids usually play. I " had " a lamp in there. It is no

longer.

While your look may be functional, mine is more a CRISP look. Plain,

crisp and simple. THAT is my decor. And a trampoline in the middle

of the room would really mess with it.

OMG!!!!!!! LOL This is hysterical

" Two months before Christmas

Bob nailed shut the hole

Show him that one, too.

You forgot astounded, dumbfounded, totally ticked off to the nth degree of

tickedoffticity! LOL

I think they made a horror movie about this guy. " Bob " Who poses as a

contractor and gets murdered many times over and over, and keep getting

resurrected.

You know that " In the Year 2002 " gag that Conan O'Brien does on his late

night show? I fully expect to hear him say, " Late in the year 2000, Grace

and Shaun will have a functioning kitchen, but will only be able to use it

after they get out of prison. "

Don't worry, Grace, I will come up and visit you. I'll bet the girls will

look cute in Jailhouse stripes.

<completely blank look>

This is one of those things they babble on about on those house shows,

right? You know the ones they come in and remodel stuff? They use those

same words. I don't watch those shows; they confuse me. And usually I

think the place looked better before they did anything to it.

I do like the shows where they take everything apart and then show you how

to build stuff, though. Bob Villa, like that. Maybe one day I will have a

house and I can take it apart and build stuff in it. That would be fun. :)

Grace:

Why not buy yourself a nice crisp french country trampoline? Then it would

fit right in with the decor.

Grace,

This is why when I moved my laundry room to the basement and made my kitchen

6 1/2 feet longer, I had my dad and dh do most of the work and I did all of

the painting, staining, taping, compounding and sanding! We kept it

functional during the whole process with no more than the water being off

for one day at a time. Not to mention the money we saved. Sorry I couldn't

have sent them to help you!

Grace, be careful when Bob nails shut the hole, he doesn't nail it

from the inside. Otherwise, you'll be trapped in the house with him.

On second thought, at least you'll know where he is! LOL

I am not a hands-on kind of gal, you see.

I like picturing it in my head, drawing it out, buying everything else, and

having someone else do it for me.

or so I thought... until Bob the builder from hell showed up.

But even so - - - I would redo another kitchen in a split second, I think.

<gasp!> Of course, I am so bankrupt, I can never move again. No biggie. I

like my kitchen. I just despise BOB.

ROTFL about the songs, Barb. You are so funny!!!

> OBVIOUSLY this guy does not have another job going, or why would he leave

his

Well, no. He does have other jobs, which is why I am being ignored.

The tools he left here are the bigger " end of project " kinds of tools. For

example, he wouldn't need these to lay out the foundation elsewhere. So

until his other projects reach this stage, he doesn't need them. Why not

store them here..... UGH.

Sounds like a good movie to me, so long as we stop the tape before the

resurrection.

For anyone else, this might happen.

Barb, unfortunately, some people are not even worth shooting. Waste of a

perfectly good bullet...

Oh believe me, I considered it. But Ron stopped me because it would have

given Bob CAUSE to sue me.

I'm glad I listened, but I should have at least damaged the stuff.

Anyhow, I was laughing because he left without doing the door, but he came

back later on in the afternoon, TOOK MY DOORS WITH HIM, and put in one

electrical socket and left again.

I should see him sometimes before the New Year. Little does he know that I

am leaving for LA this weekend and will definitely LOCK UP THE WHOLE HOUSE

before I go. He will just have travel around with my doors.... WAITING.

AND WAITING.
