Grace -

Good for you for keeping such detailed records. This will help you

so much further down the road (when you've lost your memory..LOL)

(j/k about the memory part)

Have you thought about Flax oil, Grace? It's easy to sneak into

Is that also Vit A, Penny? I have heard nothing about it.

I FINALLY opened the Cod Liver Oil this morning. I tried sneaking it

into their blueberry yogurts.

It worked. But both girls looked mighty suspicious with the first

bite. It's a good thing they were hungry. I gagged every time I

took a whiff of that oil.

EWW.

Thanks Penny.

You're right, Grace, Madison should definitely continue!! What dose of DMG is

she on? (# of tablets, that is)

As for Sydney - while this may not be working, there are lots more cards up a

lot more sleeves....(do I see a GFCF diet in her future? <maniacal laugh>)

Grace, have you tried DHA? (not nec. cod liver oil -- look for a vegetarian

version) I was giving it to Mikey & it did make a difference. I need to

start giving it to him again but he hasn't been eating for the last 4 days

or so...once again, reason to be thankful he's still nursing...ugh.

I give him a piece of bread w/peanut butter for breakfast & he licks all the

PB off. I mix the DHA capsule into the PB.

Very interesting!

DHA for kids is delicious. My kids beg for it. I have to hide it and I

sneak a capsule occasionally too. Robbie says, " So good, so good, " and

Putter just opens it and eats.

Wow!!

It sounds like Madison is really seeing some improvements. I had a lot of

success with the SNT, but we stopped it to see if there would be a

regression. We are starting to see some, so I will be starting her back on

this tomorrow. The DMG didn't do anything for us.

Good luck and I hope you keep seeing improvements.

Jacquie,

We are on the recommended doseage now.

We are not on DMG, but TMG - - which, simply put, has one more methyl group:

" TMG donates one methyl group (it has 3 while DMG has 2) that reduces

harmful homocysteins and increases beneficial serotonin by stimulating the

production of a precursor called SAMe, which acts as a natural

antidepressant by increasing the level of serotonin. The remaining two

methyl are DMG. The powder has a pleasant sweet taste and includes Folic

Acid and Vitamin B12. "

We're on the liquid form, and she gets 1 tsp of that daily, in the morning,

in addition to the Super NuThera and Calcium.

We tried the Cod LIver oil today. Madison was amazing... or in her

teacher's words, " Madison was on fire today! " Two consecutive incidents of

headbanging today, on the television, but nothing else.

Sydney was.... pretty much the same. But she is still quite sickly, cough

and sniffles. But to be perfectly honest, I didn't notice anything

different. She seemed pretty much the same to me - just mellower than

usual, but she is still with a cold.

The improvement in Madison was obvious to me, but not as pronounced as the

teachers witnessed. She just seemed a LOT more aware than her normal self.

The teachers claim she responds with " yai yai " to each bye bye... and showed

me. She did say yai yai, but that doesn't sound much like BYE BYE to me.

And she didn't wave when it was done in front of me. It doesn't matter.

What I saw is enough, my child is PRESENT. 100% THERE... and for the

moment, I don't ask for more than that.

Jacquie, if I do quit the vitamins for Sydney (which looks likely right now

in 2 weeks), there IS indeed a lot more up the sleeve for her...... <sigh>

It's nice to see you laugh, maniacal, psychotic or what not, LOL.

Tamara, you could try the TMG... just for a month or so. There is a decent

chance that TMG won't do much if DMG didn't - - but did you try the one with

the Folic Acid and B12?

Have YOU tried the Cod Liver Oil, or the other variations we've been

mentioning on this list? I have only done it for one day, so I can't claim

anything, but it's worth shot, IF you can get it down Ebony's throat LOL.

That stuff WREAKS.

Wow, that sounds wonderful! Did you order it from Kirkman??????? I'd like to

get my hands on some of that. My local health food store sells DMG, but I've

never seen TMG!!

It does to me!!!!!!! That is a total attempt at saying it, and a truly sincere

'bye-bye'! Whoopee!!!!!!!!

Aw, thanks. And listen -- if you do decide to walk the diet walk, feel free to

contact me off-list and pick my brain. You might want to contact BJ, too! Our

methods are very different, so you could use us to compare and contrast!

I have some. Enrique won't take it (I give Putter DMG). You wanna drive

down here and get it? Free? Only charge you with being entertaining for a

short while and playing three (3) video games with Enrique.

But, yes, Kirkman's does sell it.

Jacquie.... I hope you mean for ... and not yourself?

Well, not that there would be anything wrong with taking it yourself, but

..... I do hope you mean for LOL.

Yes, I got it from Kirkman Labs. It's not nearly as vile as SNT, thank

goodness.

Don't forget to get the Folic Acid and B12 added kind!

>>Oh, I LOVE it! Do the teachers know you're doing the supplements?

The main teacher knows I started the vitamin therapy. I told her after one

week - to sort of explain my daily query into their behavior for the day.

She didn't tell the other teachers so as to keep the setting natural - - and

the reports have been generally similar. With Syd, they notice definite

attention gain, but nothing as noticeable as Madison.

>>An incredible feeling. I am so happy for you!!!!! This is just so

Thanks. Life is definitely easier when Madison behaves. She had another

good day at school today, but both look like their colds are returning.

Tomorrow is the Xmas party, I really wanted them to attend, but I wonder

now.

Behaviorally, everything is great. But still no talking, Jacquie.... still

no talking. :o(

SNT and DMG are supplements that are used to help children with attention,

stimulatory behaviors, language, etc. I purchased them through Kirkman

Laboratories. SNT is basically the vitamin B6 and Magnesium in megadoses. I

don't remember exactly what DMG is, but I am sure there are people that are

using it now that could answer that one. The SNT did help with Ebony's

language. Afer I started it, she started to imitate verbally which she

hadn't done before. I had stopped it to see if there would be regression.

We are not seeing verbal regression, but we are having some behavior

problems and sensory problems that I do not know are related. I am going to

try it again to see if it helps with these things.

Hope that helps...

Grace: I think I did try the TMG. I bought the sample and she was wired on

it even with extra folic separate and B12. I haven't tried any of the oils

because she has to be able to drink it in juice. She does not take meds if

she doesn't like them and will not take capsules or anything like that. She

will throw up first. I think she would just not drink her cup if I put

something foul in it. I am going to try the SNT again and maybe I will give

the TMG another shot later on. We'll see.

Thanks,

Tamara

Tamara.

>Sigh<

How long did you give it to her before seeing the verbal imitation?

I see Madison trying a little bit. For instance, she wants me to bring down

the flowerpot of mums, and I keep on saying, " FLOWER... flooowwwweeeerrr "

and so forth. The other day, she had her lips and teeth in the F position.

This week, she is making the F sound. But for several days, still just the

F sound. " FFFFFFFFFFFFFF "

She couldn't pick a word like " toy " or " juice " . Had to be a FL word LOL.

This is a LOT considering where she is coming from <completely nonverbal>

but still . . . it doesn't look like a strong start.

Sydney is not showing anything of this sort.

Does Ebony accept yogurt?

We've been doing it in yogurt. I think I am pushing it by adding the CLO,

but so far, it's okay. Any more additions, and they simply won't be fooled

anymore, LOL.

Juice.. that is much harder. My girls seem to be able to taste most anything

in juice.....

any suggestions on what to give vitaminwise for excessive activity? It would

need to be a liquid and easily hidden in a juice box. Thanks!

She was taking 1 tsp for a couple of months with just increased babbling.

Then I decided to increase it to 2 tsp....the next day she started to

verbally imitate words! However the therapists had also recently started

manding. She was forced to make some verbalization to recieve reenforcing

items. Any verbalization was accepted at that point. She now will imitate

almost any word. She still doesn't use language without prompting, but it

is a definite advance. Keep in mind, she falls between the 40 and 60 pound

range and did not show much improvement until I went to the 60 pound amount.

I was told by my ped that any extra would just flush out of her system.

You might want to increase Madison's dose and see what happens. Just an

idea....
