Guest guest
New to me that is. I found the oddizms site with the " you might be an Aspie if " Some of it did not apply, some of it was hysterically funny, some made me start to weep, like this one, as I am typing with one finger sticking straight out due to.. all the typing and piano and organ practice: ....if you ever stayed with a hobby so long and with such intensity that you hurt yourself. (can you say " carpal tunnel syndrome " ?) I can't find any way to write in, maybe because the layout is kind of mind boggling to me, lots of stuff going on in all those little sqaures and rectangles... but here's mine: " You might be an Aspie if you told your best friend in college that you wanted to read all the books in the graduate library by the time you graduated (with a bachelor's degree) " The friend looked at me uncomprehendingly and said " WHY? " clearly indicating that she might NOT be an Aspie. One " bumper sticker " on the site: " Autism: It's not like you think. " " I used to work for a guy who used to say " I'm just trying to teach you how to THINK. " I keep wanting to go back and tell him he can NEVER teach me how to think, at least not like he does. OK, have to stop typing to save my finger for the organ. Rhonda
Guest guest
ROFL! I took harp in college. The great big full-size $10,000 pedal harps, that you have to have a station wagon to carry around. I practiced so much, my fingers bled! Still wish I could buy one for myself... Elayne http://www.huntfamilyhome.net " The government thinks you're an idiot. Guest guest
Weird instruments are so cool! What could be weirder than harps and pipe organs? Plus, the bigger, the better! -Rhonda > > ROFL! > > I took harp in college. The great big full-size $10,000 pedal harps, that > you have to have a station wagon to carry around. Guest guest
Hi all, I've got an idea for a saying for Ts, bumper stickers, etc.: " No 'Trix' About It... Autism Isn't 'Just For Kids'!!! " (Oh yeah.. My condolences to the cereal company.) Wanda http://community.webtv.net/tikigalharkins/LETSTALKASPERGERS
Guest guest
Is it an Aspie/autie/whatever thing to come up with " one-liners " ????? Someone please give the answer... I think I read that somewhere online. Actually, it would be cool to get the cereal company on board. someone who is good at convincing cereal companies would call them and get them to sponsor some autism-related thing, ****something that people on this list can approve of, not the BAD ones that I'm starting to read about... and anyway, then the cereal company uses your slogan and puts it on the cereal boxes and you make a million, well, maybe 5 million, which is what it takes to get through an entire lifespan in realitve ease... I am ALWAYS coming up with lines for t-shirts and bumper stickers. I see or hear something and it makes me think of a one-line slogan. Also I can make people laugh with one-liners but I rarely can carry on a whole conversation, especially if it is not about something i am interested in. ... tshirts--only i don't know how to make them myself (not computer graphics i mean) and I suck at marketing. I did once have 48 t-shirts made and sold them to people but I HATED everything about it other than coming up with the design. I had to have a company translate my bitmappy file into something that looked OK, and then all the bother with getting them made by someone else and then having to try to make a profit....i can draw them freehand but have never had the time to stop and learn even basic graphics software. recently i made a handmade t-shirt for my son which is SO COOL. i had him wear it last night because i knew other little kids would be around and am hoping their parents will want one... i think i will just make them with fabric paint and they will be one-of-a-kind.
