Guest guest
jen..yes that is exactly why i use seroquel. that kind of mania for me i see more as a mixed or dysphoric episode...but yep....for that is exactly the way i feel. you described it really well. and seroquel works the best for me with that kind of thing...well..not only seroquel...zyprexa worked well too... but it was as bad or worse on the restless legs...seroquel is also more weight neutral....the atypical anti-paychotics like this work much better than things like xanax for mania... much much better .. lee A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort Re: Seroquel-Lee Lee,I have bipolar disorder, and didn't know that you could use Seroquel to bring you down from a manic episode. I will have to keep that in mind. My psych prescribes Seroquel for me as a sleep med, since it's the only thing that really works for me without giving out. I've used Xanax in the past for manic episodes, but I stopped that at the beginning of this year. A question about your "uncomfortable" manic episodes. Do you feel really edgy, like you're wound really tight like a spring, and you could just crawl out of your own skin? That's how I feel sometimes, and it's so intense. If I have to have a manic episode, I would much rather it be the high energy, on top of the world good mood kind! I hate the irritable, tense energy kind! Not that I want to have an episode of course!JenSite mod 1. While it is wonderful to share our experiences with everyone on the list as to what treatments do and don't work for us, pls always check with your dr. Some treatments are dangerous when given along with other meds as well as to certain health conditions or just dangerous in general.2. If you are in a difficult situation (doesn't matter what it is) pls don't be afraid to ask for help. It is the first step to trying to make that situation better.Have a nice day everyone. Guest guest
Lee, I'm so glad to hear that I'm not the only one who has felt that ungodly awful feeling! It's horrible! My skin literally feels like it is crawling. Have you ever used Xanax for those attacks? It works for me, but I didn't like the addictive potential. I will have to try my Seroquel the next time I feel like that, and I will bring it up with my psych when I see him again in December. Thanks again! Guest guest
Lee, My husband took Zyprexa for a year, as part of a study. Not only did it give him problems with RLS, but he also gained about 50 lbs while on it. He's a big guy anyway (6'4 " tall) but he didn't need that extra weight. He is experiencing problems with high blood pressure, and I'm glad he's not taking it any more. cyn At 10:32 PM 10/30/2004 -0400, T Lee R and Jeri J wrote: jen..yes that is exactly why i use seroquel. that kind of mania for me i see more as a mixed or dysphoric episode...but yep....for that is exactly the way i feel. you described it really well. and seroquel works the best for me with that kind of thing...well..not only seroquel...zyprexa worked well too... but it was as bad or worse on the restless legs...seroquel is also more weight neutral....the atypical anti-paychotics like this work much better than things like xanax for mania... much much better .. lee clmerritt@... yahoo im id cynmerritt site mod for Neo-Slither site mod for Humourists site mod for List-Helper site mod for HerpChat site mod for Herp-Photography site mod for Fibromyalgia_Support_Group site mod for FSGMODS owner & mod for Creamsicle owner & mod for HerpMods
