Guest guest
I chickened out....Not afraid of the shots but not sure if this is the path I want to go and always have problems with new meds....I was so upset and tired last night that I just could not do it. I need to find my balance. I choose not to eat no carb...am mostly content with low carb but dislike the spikes if I even stray too far from the straight and narrow hence the starlix...but did put on the obligatory 4 pounds and don't like that at all since I have lost 50 but have 25 to go........ very confused today...praying for wisdom ressy
Guest guest
I also use ultralente as my basal insulin. I take it in the morning and in the evening. I found that when you split the U into two injections (morning and evening) there is no noticeable peak. Also I take 10 units in the AM and 20 units in the PM. This is to help with the " dawn syndrome " . With the glargine (lantus) this would not be possible. Another point in U's favor is cost. The lantus cost was predicted to be about $43 per vial at release. I don't know what final price that they settled on. As you probably noticed all the adds compare this new insulin to NPH and I have seen no comparison to U. I am staying with ultralente.
