Guest guest
http://welkowitz.typepad.com/ Larry Welkowitz I don't think I've heard of him, but maybe I have. Lynn Weissman who is a pretty nice lady from FEAT Sacramento, who doesn't seem to be to berzerko like Lenny.... and whose focus is AS since her son has AS... has a list that she sends out local stuff to. It's a nice very short kind of newsletter. Anyway, I haven't looked at the blog yet. I haven't listened to any of the podcasts (mp3 files) part of Lynn's email: ----------- Weekly " Podcast " on Asperger Syndrome Presented by Larry Welkowitz, Ph.D, from the Department of Psychology at Keene State College in New Hampshire, this is a weekly program featuring interviews with experts and real people with AS/Autism. The program is suitable for download to an MP3 player(Ipod) or listened to online . To hear these interviews: http://welkowitz.typepad.com I found a software program that is useful for individuals who are " visual thinkers " to help them with writing. It's called ThinkMap Visual Thesaurus. " Both a thesaurus and a dictionary, its interactive display lets you explore and understand language in a new way. " Here's the link: https://www.visualthesaurus.com/ Also, a great planner/scheduler concept is Planner Pads, here's the link to their website: https://plannerpads.com/concept.asp ----------end of quote from Lynn's email And, besides the Lenny show that's this week...featuring scare mongers Kirby and Kartzinel... Tony Atwood is coming to Sacramento in April! wow. It's a future horizons thing. I don't think I " m interested, I might go if it was free. And a semi-top secret secret.... tomorrow the real Autism Diva, well, the real Autism Diva of New Hampshire... the one and only.... Kathleen Seidel... is coming to Sacramento.... she has some friends in Sacramento and she's going to schmooze with someone with an interest in autism besides me... who I don't think I should name. I think she might talk about it later. And I hope she gets to come to my place and meet my ASD kid and the dog. We will attend the Margaret Bauman presentations at the MIND institute on Wednesday, I hope. I don't know how much of her visit is supposed to be secret or discrete or whatever, so I'm not going to post about it on aut advo until she does. I suppose the worst that could happen is that Lenny would show up at the MIND institute and make a scene if he knew that two of his critics would be there. I have never seen Lenny at the MIND institute gigs, or heard of him going to one. Though he personally whipped up the two mercury dads who went there and basicallly tried to shout me down when I was talking during the question period... he gave them tips on what to say and what to avoid so they wouldn't get in over their heads... doesn't take much for these people to get in over their heads as far as science goes. Kathleen's leaving Sacramento to see other family a day before Kirby is flying in, I think... I was hoping she could pass him in the airport and scare him with some questions he doesn't want to hear... like " who do you think you are, bucko? " For those of you who might not know who Kathleen is she's the webmistress of neurodiversity.com and a real advocate for autitsics. A.B. has met her, so has Muskie, I hear, and Shore...I think. next, we all need to go to Montreal to IMFAR this summer and see . Would't that be cool? a hundred or more spectrum people attending IMFAR! It's almost " no autistics allowed " . Unfortunately, it's really expensive.
