Yes, you can get compounded cortisol, the difference is no fillers.

I can't tell you if there's enough difference between it and HC as I

have never used the HC, have only been on the compounded cortisol

from my doc.

I've had compounded H/C. Several compounding pharmacists said the

pure H/C is too small an amount for them to measure accurately and

fill capsules so they still need to use some filler - the difference

is they can use a different type of filler that would be more inert

like tapioca or vitamin C or something else. It turned out that I

personally did not see a difference.

I was getting severe heartburn with the cortef, so because it was

possible that I was reacting to the filler, I tried the compounded H/

C with a filler that I know I can tolerate (I know because I've had

it before). Unfortunately, even with the compounded H/C I kept

getting the hearburn.

Then I tried taking the H/C bucally, between my my cheek and gums,

finally I wasn't getting the heartburn. I continued with the

compounded H/C for a while since I already had it, then I tried the

original cortef bucally. Low and behold, no heartburn. Now I've

gone back to the original stuff since the compounded H/C costs quite

a bit more, not to mention the hassle of getting to a compounding

pharmacy which isn't local to me.

So, there is my experience. Steve, I guess it depends what problem

you're having with the cortef, maybe you could find out what they use

for filler.

I should mention something about taking it bucally. I've been warned

that it might not be a good idea because it could cause thrush or

mouth sores. Again, my personal experience with it is it did not

cause thrush or mouth sores, nor with the person who told me about

taking it this way. If there is a concern, one could always rinse

their mouth out after taking it. good luck,
