Guest guest
It is one of the side effects and your Dr sahould be made aware of it.. Question about glucophage side effects Okay, here goes a really embarrasing question....I had not noticed any side effects from glucophage since I began taking it. However, my doctor recently increased my dosage to twice a day. Since that time I've had what I would consider to be moderate diahrea. It may just be a coincidence, and I've got some kind of stomach bug, but does anyone know if this is a common side effect of the medication, and can I take OTC meds to help correct it? Thanks! Glad you guys are here to share these lovely things with Kelle
Guest guest
It is a side effect of the Glucophage. It should go away once your body gets used to the meds. Guest guest
Hi welcome to the world of Glucophage. I say they should give out a certificate for running shoes cause you will be going. It subsides after a while but be aware that if you get really really hungry the runs come back. I don't know if that's something that happens to me but when my sugars 'get low' I tell yah I have to stop drop and roll, lol > Okay, here goes a really embarrasing question....I had not noticed > any side effects from glucophage since I began taking it. Guest guest
My doctor said that glucophage does promote weight loss. Basically, when it is in your system it makes your stomach take longer to process your food so that your insulin has enough time to manage it. This longer digestion means you don't take in the calories as quickly. At least, that was my understanding of the process. > My doctor said that he doesn't' like to even give glucophage because > too many of his patients call him with this problem..I heard that this > drug can help you loose weight? Guest guest
If you read the Physicians Book about Glucophage one of the official side effects is also Anorexia! THAT'S what I'm talking about. Because it processes the food so slow you stay full longer and don't wanna eat. I know this to be true because it has been one of the reasons I have kept my weight off. I'm not hungry and I feel full all the time. Between that and all the dang gone water I consume > My doctor said that glucophage does promote weight loss. Guest guest
LOL Anoexia? Now don't that beat all. Looking at me you would NOT think anorexia nervosa. I will admit that I am not as hungry as I would have expected to be on my present diet. My portions are currently 1/2 or even 1/3 of what I was eating before, yet I feel very satisfied. I do get hungry at appropriate times and do eat my meals on a regular basis. I have been losing weight rapidly for the most part. I'm plateauing right now...but hopefully will start to go down again once I can kick my body in gear. I wonder if I get off the glucophage if I will have a problem dieting? Interesting thought. > If you read the Physicians Book about Glucophage one of the official > side effects is also Anorexia!
