This is what i'm currently doing...to stay in virus safe shape <G> There is a ton of info in this mail.... take it slow, IM or email me if you have questions, First you need to be sure you are free of viruses.... go to Trends' " Housecall " and run the online scan? That will have the latest updates online at this time. <A HREF= " http://housecall.antivirus.com/housecall/start_corp.asp#top " >Trend Micro, Incorporated - Free Tools - HouseCall</A> http://housecall.antivirus.com/housecall/start_corp.asp#top If you are not clear, and HouseCall can clean them up for you, let it. IF you are clear.... and it tells you so, then i'd do the following Next go to http://www.kryptocrew.de/snakebyte/indexe.htm download install and run, this is a trojan scanner that is freeware. Next go to http://www.winmag.com/fixes/watchdog/default.htm download and install and set up to run, and check everything.... Next go to: http://www.finjan.com/surfinguard/ Use the " west coast mirror " . Next go to: http://www.antivirus.ca.com/ Download the personal version of Inoculate (this is = to, if not better than McAfee's) Run, and Install this, check for updates at the site. Then do a full scan of your computer C Drive, and any other drives if you have others... (I uninstalled (using add/remove programs) the mcafee's after getting inoculate) go disable Active X .... both in your aol brower and any other browser you have either netscape, or MSIE. For AOL you go to my aol, preferences, www, custom, security, then put checks in disable Active X there should be 5 of them. If you use a Cable modem, please let me know, there will be one more thing that you should then do. Hope this helps, take it slow, let me know if you have over 1000 questions <G>
