Guest guest Posted May 7, 2002 Report Share Posted May 7, 2002 I just heard on Rush Lindbaugh when I ran out at lunch that a new clinical study had been released that said that Zoloft, Prozac, Paxil and other anti-depressents had been proven to be no more effective than taking a sugar pill. He said that apparently the effect of taking the pill was just as good as the medication. Have any of you heard anything about this? Guest guest Posted May 7, 2002 Report Share Posted May 7, 2002 Phyllis I haven't heard that sugar pills were as effective as anti-depressents, but I don't believe it. My opinion is that many people that are given anti-depressents aren't really clinically depressed and don't need them. They are made to correct certain deficiencies and just because a person is feeling " down " doesn't mean they have these dediciencies, but they are often given an anti-depressent. I have tried several and had the best results with zoloft. It seems that if I only felt better because I was getting a medication, that any one of them would have done the same thing.
