Guest guest
Hi, That is the million dollar question!! Both the DOC and STAR are active meaning they redirect the growth of the head through gentle pressure. I don't know if the NIC band is an active band of not, I think we have a few members that are using them now. Same with the Hanger band. You can learn more about the DOCband here: www.cranialtech.com You can learn more about the STARband here: www.orthomerica.com And you can learn more about the NIC band here: http://www.nicband.bigstep.com/homepage.html Hanger has a web site but I can't find anything about their band on it. www.hanger.com Cranial Tech (makers of the DOCband) Were the first in the business and the first to obtain FDA approval. All of their orthotists are specially trained in treating plagio babies. With all of the other bands/helmets you really need to interview the ortho to make sure he/she has plenty of experience treating plagio babies. These bands/helmets in the wrong hands can be really bad. Hopefully you'll be close to a place that can band your baby and has experience. Good luck making your decision. Please keep us posted. > Can anyone tell me the differnece between DOC Band, STAR Band, > Hanger and NIC Band? Cranial Tech is pretty far away from us, but > if DOC Band is really the best, than we will make the trip. Thanks.
Guest guest
I also wanted to add, if the band/helmet isn't active then it is passive. A passive helmet sits on the baby's head and eventually the baby's head will grow into the shape of the helmet, round. Sorry they didn't post correctly the first time: http://www.cranialtech.com http://www.orthomerica.com http://www.hanger.com --- In Plagiocephaly , " stripes6060 " <taime@o...> wrote: > Hi, > That is the million dollar question!! > Both the DOC and STAR are active meaning they redirect the growth of > the head through gentle pressure.
