Kate,

There are a lot of people with Fibro that are unable to work. Note that I said unable to work as opposed to "hold down a job." The reason for this is that the phrase "not able to hold down a job" has always implied that a person is continually getting fired from job after job. At least that is what it implies to me.

But you are not having that problem. You are legitimately ill and therefore are unable to work without getting sick. You have a few different options though. You can try to see if there are any other jobs you can do that don't cause your fibro to flare up as bad or you can look into disability.

But believe me when I say you are definitely NOT alone in this. There are a lot of members on this group that are unable to work because of fibro and even those of us that do work are having financial difficulties because of all our meds and treatments and doctors visits and such.

I do hope that you find an answer soon that will help you. But until you do, please feel free to vent to us whenever you need to!

Good Luck!

Has having Fibro been horrible on any of your finances??I was a Kindergarten teacher for years and have not taught in a few years. I always thought I would go back and dig out of our debts that we have accumulated while I have been home with our kids. I am seriously doubting if I am going to be able to hold up to that job. I get sick from just doing volunteer work at my 8 year olds school for 4 hours a week.Is it just me? Could everyone but me hold up to that job? Thanks to everyone!
