Susie, fwiw they (the well respected Horse Journal that does extensive

studies)recommend magnesium and GTF chromium for insulin resistant ponies.

I was taking 1000 mg magnesium a day as recommended for gum infection

repair - it worked, but I also did a bunch of other stuff as well. Because

of the pony article I read, now I'm taking 300-400 mg magnesium per day in

the evening, because it's supposed to help evening relaxation for sleep. And

it really does help me sleep - no more melatonin.

Thanks for that, Barb. Once I get the bloodwork results, I'd like to add

Chromium GTF too. I just wanted to mention that in today's reading at the

go-symmetry site, I read that Coenzyme Q-10 (which I also take) is supposed

to prevent/cure gum disease, as well as increase energy (which could lead to

weight loss), improve heart function, boost the immune system, and even

possibly prolong life.

I had mouth flush a couple years ago, and some kind

person on a list said she uses listerine, 3x a day

during outbreak, and once every day thereafter, it

really works.

I do this and not only did I get rid of it, it hasn't

come back.

My aunt used to work for a dentist and she swears Listerine is wonderful for

your gums also. I just think it tastes like crap :)
