Guest guest
Dave; My opinion, only, is that to obtain 90-100, you must dose dinner with insulin. It is hard on the pancreas, especially at night to digest and produce insulin. Ron S has sent me much material showing that insulin resistance is actually higher at dinner than in the a.m. ( as is commonly thought that the a.m. is the most resistance due to dawn phenomenon). Without the right dinner dose, we have never been able to get good morning numbers no matter how much U we used at bedtime. Good luck. n

This week has been good, even with the stress of running around looking for another vehicle. In fact, 118 was the highest AM reading, and they range from 104 to 118, so I'm pretty happy with 20u of NPH at this point. At least I know I'm just about where I need to be. The rest of the daytime readings are doing very well also. Yes, still eating the same. -- Dave - 8:33:31 AM T2 - 8/98 Glucophage, NPH - Davors Daily Aphorism: Freedom is just chaos with better lighting. -- Visit my HomePage: http://dorcutt.homepage.com

Just give it time to fine tune your insulin and bg's. I'm still getting mine fine tuned even after being on U for 2 years!! Well, things happen and change, so along the way I've had to reduce it and then increase, its like a see saw, the life of a diabetic, only change is constant with us, so if you run into a brick wall again, just adjust again which ever way you need to. For quite a while I was so sensitive to Humalog, was just taking U, now this week all that has changed!!! LOL Now U is getting fbg down more, running 135, was 158, but still have to increase of course, but now needing the H during the day again with food, hadn't for weeks, I take about 3 units for each meal, was really going low, oh well, what would I do without such challenges? As I tweaked it up, it did work out to about the same. However, the U is in effect for a lot longer.
