Guest guest
/, That's horrible! It's hard enough being a new mom, and being pressured like that in the hospital is completely uncalled for! I nursed both of my girls for 3 mos, and 6 mos respectively, but both had formula from day one as well (always 1 bottle/day, and supplementing in the hospital). I remember getting admonished in the hospital for supplementing - I was told I should continue nursing more if my daughter was still crying (thankfully, I had an awesome doctor for my older daughter - she was in the NICU, who said not to worry about the supplementing and he actually encouraged it). I was also chastized for using a pacifier for my older daughter (after she had nursed for nearly an hour, and had some formula) - because " if she still feels the need to suck, she should be nursed " - aaargh. I guess this stuff just never ends... BTW, 's tort definitely was evident at birth with the nursing, but not ever having heard of tort, I just used the football hold on that side to work around her screaming, but never looked to the source of the screaming (a bad move in hindsight - but at least we did the right thing now!)
