I also have a question for you, and anyone else, about life expectancy following these procedures. I don't want to touch on what might be a sensitive subject, but it is an issue that concerns me. When reading Carnie 's book, Gut Feelings, she got a report from somewhere that the life expectancy of bypass patients was 55. Is that because of the malabsorption issue? I think this is the one concern that scares me more than any other. Do I want another 20 or so years being relatively active, or another 40 being obese but hopefully knowing my grandkids?
