Hi :I'm so happy to hear she's sleeping thru the night and is doing very well in her band.

Can't help you w/the tort question, my daughter didn't have it, but I am sure others will help you out.

Hi everyoneI just wanted to give an update on Becca. She was banded Wed and she is doing great. The first night was a little rough she woke up twice crying. But last night she slept through the night. She is doing pretty good with her red spots. There are a few when we take the band off but they fade after about 10 to 20 minutes. ALthough they don't all completly fade away some just get lighter. Is this ok. THey don't seem to be bothering her and her skin isn't flaky or changing texture. We so back on Wed of next week for a check and adjustmentsBecca also has a slight tort. I have to do neck excersices with her three times a day she really does not like them. It breaks my heart to have to do them. ANy suggestions? She is getting better but they are not

her favorite thing to do.We were told she will probably be banded for 10 to 12 weeks. beccas mommy 6 mo banded 7/30/03For more plagio info

,

Awww- Becca is a cutie! Love those chubba chubba cheeks! I know this doesn't work for many parents, but we had the best luck doing the deep stretches while our son was asleep. Since I cannot believe that cute pic with her asleep with the casting on, maybe you can try doing some stretches while she's conked out- she seems like a deep sleeper! This was great for us, he didn't tense up and we didn't have lots of crying every time- even tho we still did do stretches at pt with him crying and not liking it- but we realized that we had to do what we had to do for him, and are glad that we did- it gets even harder as they get older. You can also have her look towards her tort side as much as possible- and even propping while sleeping in the opposite direction of the tilt all work collectively towards getting that muscle to stretch and curb that tilted posture from becoming habit forming (mentally and physically). Good luck, check out www.torticolliskids for more tips and advice on tort. Keep us posted on how Becca is doing with both her tort and plagio.
