Well , I have what I consider to be a mild case of Fibro in that

I am able to still work full time and be a full time single mom.

However, for me, I have pain every day, regardless of if I take my

pain medication or not. All my pain medicine does is take the pain

down to a tolerable level. But for me, it has been there 24/7 in some

level since it reared it's ugly head in april 2001.

> And one other question, with the firbro pain, I have to admit that

after reading some of your posts, If i have fibro...than it is a mild

case. I don't have nearly the pain that ya'all guys have. I do have

COPD which makes things tough has it is, but usually what I call a

flare has more to do with severe fatigue and joint pain, rather than

muscle pain. So..is the pain with fibro an everyday thing or do

ya'all have days with out pain?

If you ever find out for sure that people with sjoregens can't wear contacts I would like to know. As I said, or at least think I said, sjorgen, fsg, and or hep c are just the thoughts of the doctor. I had been diag with lupus many years ago, and subsequently unDx'd, and this doc is pretty sure i don't have lupus, so i guess that's good. I never mentioned to the doc that I was a total failure at wearing contacts because my eyes would get so inflamed and/or dry.

Something else that I have been curious about... do any of ya'all out there have trouble with pierced ears. I have had my ears pierced 3 time only to end up with infection no matter what kind of earrings I tried to wear. Shoot, I haven't worn earring in years and I still get gunk in the piercing.

Re: Jen T - eye plugs etc.

, I am glad you mentioned this!!! I normally wear contacts butfor the last 6-8 months they have been torture on my eyes!!! I thoughtmaybe it was allergies back in the spring but the itching and rednessnever subsided. I even took them out and cleaned them very well acouple of times and they still wreck havoc with my eyes. I finallyresorted back to wearing my glasses although I really hate it. N.> Sounds like you need a new Rheumy....> > By the way.... do you wear glasses? If yes, then have you ever beenable to tolerate contacts? 1. While it is wonderful to share our experiences with everyone on the list as to what treatments do and don't work for us, pls always check with your dr. Some treatments are dangerous when given along with other meds as well as to certain health conditions or just dangerous in general.2. If you are in a difficult situation (doesn't matter what it is) pls don't be afraid to ask for help. It is the first step to trying to make that situation better.Have a nice day everyone.

omg, i've tried tried and tried again to wear contacts and never could. my eyes would become a MESS! or could this just be caused by something other than sjorgen?

re: pierced ears, i've had holes become infected. i don't know how many times i've had 2nd holes put in, only to have to let them close up. the holes i do have, they smell, no matter how clean i keep them. i don't know if it's caused by a reaction to the metal or what.

i have pain all over my body, i also have arthritis, but my tender points (and i have all of them) hurt when i touch them, i guess they hurt all the time. i'm just so achy and hurt so much, it's hard for me to differentiate where the pain is coming from, you know? sorry i wasn't more help with the pain thing.

I hope you don't mind me jumping in here, I am shocked to read of

you also having problems w/ such simple things as contacts and

earrings. I haven't been able to wear contacts in years, almost 10

years now, because they would irritate my eyes so badly. The dr

said that the inside of my eyelids was allergic to them? Apparently

the part of the eyelids that is on the inside (back side of where

you would put eye shadow) was so irritated that I still had bumps

there, even 18 months after I had stopped wearing contacts. And

that was AFTER I had tried disposables, because one of the

optomotrists had thought that might help.

I have had problems with ear infections ever since I got my ears

pierced as a young girl. All I can wear is gold stems and I still

get gunk. Costume jewelry caused too much pain and seemed to cause

infection. I do not wear earrings anymore, for the most part, as a

result.

I was diagnosed last week so I don't know if my experience is

typical, but there are days that I don't have much pain.
