Lindy Lou,

No it's not related. I have DDD and it's a form of Arthritis. I have it in my lower back. "Degenerative" meaning erosion over time. The disks narrow over time from either misuse (lifting incorrectly), injury, or being overweight. It has absolutly nothing to do with Fibro and for me... it's much more painful than Fibro as the pain never lets up... there is no Flare or good days... every day is a bad day and it does get worse with time... hence degenerative. Fibro is muscle related. Hope this helps.

gentle hugs,

Norah

norah,

yes, this DOES help and, i agree, it is worse than fms, because it's there, every minute of every day and it gets worse and worse. and, i'm also overweight, 100 pounds so. if i lost that weight, do you think the pain would lessen? or, is the damage done and it will just keep getting worse now, regardless of my weight?

I'm hoping the pain will lessen when I lose the weight too. I'm thinkin logically here... now if our backs have less weight to support... then it makes sense that there will be less pain. Something to strive for and remember when trying to lose weight... how badly do we want pain relief?

hugs,

Norah

Norah and Lindy Lou,

I know exactly what you are talking about with the back pain. I have ddd, spinal canal stenosis, arthritis in my back among other thiings. I have had a fusion in my neck and a decompression in my lower back. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't have unbearable pain running from my lower back to my toes. I have desperately searched for pain relief. Nothing makes it go away. I have become so desperate that I am in a program similar to the one you are in Norah except they don't have water therapy. It is a lot worse than the achiness I get with fibro. I dream of the day when maybe my back and leg won't hurt.

huggles,

Sundra
