Guest guest Posted May 20, 2006 Report Posted May 20, 2006 Hi and anyone, I had found a message with you as the sender where my message was right on top. The one about shopping. So I thought maybe you had something to say about that. Or maybe someone else does. It is a real stumbling block for me and while *I* don't know how to solve that problem, maybe someone else has overcome it and has some advice. I only wrote to you because the message that looked like there would be a reply but was empty came from you. Here it is again, Kendra Schauwecker wrote:> It's the shopping that's the nightmare. Guest guest Posted May 20, 2006 Report Posted May 20, 2006 You must look at eating as your medicine for your agoraphobia perhaps. Tough to over come but you have to try. my 2 cents, Chad > >Hi and anyone, > > I had found a message with you as the sender where my message was right >on top. The one about shopping. Guest guest Posted May 20, 2006 Report Posted May 20, 2006 " It's the shopping that's the nightmare. I'm so agoraphobic that I can rarely go. " Can you get your groceries on the internet and have them delivered? I think said that she believes your problem is not so much agrophobia but an overstimulation of your nervous system? Have you read the article that wrote called " Stimulation and Nervous system Overload " ? it is in the files? Best Wishes Quote
Guest guest Posted May 20, 2006 Report Posted May 20, 2006 Thanks everyone for replies. No, I believe I'm not "really" agoraphobic, it's obviously connected with the AD side effects, and having trouble caring because of course the depression is even worse with the ADs. I am starting to taper Monday - I cried for two days when I figured out a minimum rough estimate for the first drug - more than *seven* months". Then there's the second one to taper after that. Because of that, I have realized that there is only one choice - to do things for my health whether I can stand it or not (like eating cooked greens!) as is advised here. So I will grit my teeth and white knuckle it. The shopping tips are great - when I'm actually there, I do manage when I'm in certain shops - however, they're not the shops that have the good things, really. It's also things like getting dressed presentably, driving down a windy, narrow mountain road, driving then much farther away (alternative: closer supermarket) to go to the small shops, dealing with another language. We manage to eat as well as we do because my husband handles most of it - he does quite a good job, but goes nearly every day so cooking in bulk is very difficult. I have trouble making the lists, too, so I tend to make it the minimum and let him handle the rest. It's mainly paleo at night, but he includes frozen vegetables still when we are both very tired (he does all the work for our business, too). Unfortunately, no Internet shopping here of any value. I looked for the article but got discouraged when it wasn't on the main list and didn't know which file would then include it. It's very late, so will try again tomorrow. It would be so nice if the files were all just listed alphabetically as I've had trouble before finding hidden files (or if there was a search possibility). The main thing is that I've been offered encouragement and that helps my resolve. Thank you everyone. Kendrasjerrom wrote: " It's the shopping that's the nightmare. It's not radically different. Just radically better. Quote
