Methadone........WHY???

Question;

What sense does it make to take Methadone for opiate withdrawal if

Methadone is so much more addictive than the opiates?

-Is it the length of time you take the Methadone?

-If you only take the Methadone for a period of time as to be

sufficiently 'over' the physical withdrawal of the opiates you are

replacing it with, are you then in a " safe zone " so to speak?
