Guest guest
Hi Sandy, I have had the yellow colored bm's. My GP told me that if I wasn't eating a lot of yellow squash, they indicated a low-grade stomach infection. I cannot remember which antibiotic he prescibed me, but it worked. You might want to check back with your doctor, or go to another one. Guest guest
Sandy & Steve, I also have the light colored stools. Mine have a uniquely horrid smell too. Having " putty-like " (color and texture) stools, at least according to a lot of places on the internet, is a good sign of gallstones and/or liver malfunction (or hepatitis). I guess when there's no bile to digest your food, all kinds of bad things happen, including this. My understanding is that the bile doesn't go where it's supposed to, but does go where it shouldn't be (like in your blood, skin and eyes [although, I have no yellow color in my eyes]). Is this mostly correct, Steve? I've been trying to learn all I can about this since my full-blown IBS hit a year and a half ago. For the past year, with knowledge of symptom maintenance, I have only the putty-like stools and frequent bm's to deal with. I'm glad to hear that there could be another possibility, that it could be a stomach infection. I have some questions about this. Would the infection necessarily be a result of gallstones or liver weakness, or vise versa (which might cause which)? Or could the infection exist all alone, with a good gb/liver? Also, if it is a stomach infection, would doing flushes help cure it, or would more measures be in order? I have done two so far, and they seem to help, for a short while anyway. I plan to do at least one more soon. Do you think just doing flushes will be sufficient to cure the light stools? -Mark ----- Original Message ----- From: Steve Barwick gallstones Sent: Thursday, August 30, 2001 10:27 PM Subject: Re: Yellow/gold stool Hi Sandy, I have had the yellow colored bm's. Guest guest
Mark, If you are asking me, I don't have a clue. I am pretty much new to this list, and am just learning about gallbladder problems/gallstone attacks. I had the yellow, putty-like stools many months ago, and the doctor gave me a prescription antibiotic and it took care of it. Whether you have the same problem I had, there is no way for me to tell. You should check with your doctor, or if unsatisfied with him, get a second opinion from another. Some people use colloidal silver for internal infections, but in my case the colloidal silver did not work for this particular problem. It is possible the microorganism was a silver-resistant one. Colloidal silver has worked very well for me, for other infections. Another good internal natural antibiotic is Nutribiotics grapefruit seed extract. You can probably find it on the internet using a search engine. I did not have a chance to try that before taking the antibiotics my doctor gave me, but my wife has used it since then for internal infections (UTI as well as candida yeast infections) and it has worked wonderfully. Again, it is impossible to tell over the internet what specifically is causing your situation with the yellow stools. But if the flushes are not helping it, I would consider looking for another possible cause, including infection, if it were me. Also, as Tom and others have posted to this group, the " water cure " is working wonders for many people. In terms of gallbladder problems, if you are dehydrated you may have overly thick bile. 80% to 90% of my gallbladder pains disappeared when I increased my water intake to fit my body weight. The theory is that it thins out the bile, allowing it to flow more smoothly and do its work emulsifying fats more effectively. You can read about the water cure and how it is helping people overcome a myriad of problems at: http://www.watercure2.com/ Regards, Steve B. Guest guest
Mark, It might be a good idea for you to look into symptom of gluten sensitivity or celiac disease as your light stools, etc. and IBS sound very much like that might be your problem. Guest guest
Steve, Thanks for the suggestions. I will look into them. You don't remember the name of the antibiotic, do you? I went to the doctor twice about a year ago, and he just said go home, it's only ibs. He said if I wanted to pursue it, I could bring in a stool sample. I never did. Sounds like I need to follow that advice after all. Did your diagnosis come from a stool sample? I am familiar with the water cure, though, and it doesn't help. In fact, I came down with this disorder (1.5 yrs ago) after I started drinking large amounts of daily water (7 yrs ago). So, am I to understand that you regained healthy dark solid stools with only an antibiotic prescription, and without doing any flushes? -Mark ----- Original Message ----- From: Steve Barwick gallstones Sent: Friday, August 31, 2001 3:26 PM Subject: Re: Yellow/gold stool Mark, If you are asking me, I don't have a clue. Guest guest
, here's a list of Celiac's symptoms that I don't have: 1.) I generally have no abdominal pain; 2.) No anemia (at least I don't think I do - never had before); 3.) No skin rashes on buttocks, elbows, knees; 4.) There are plenty of non-gluten foods that I don't tolerate; 5.) My stools do not float; 6.) I do not bruise easily (don't bruise at all). Plus, no Celiac symptom-sets, that I've come across, include heartburn. I understand that all symptoms don't always present, so I am going to consider this when/if I go in for a massive check-up. I'm compiling a file of all possible blood/medical tests that might find something, and present it to the doctor. Thanks, -Mark ----- Original Message ----- From: moondancer gallstones Sent: Saturday, September 01, 2001 8:10 AM Subject: Re: Yellow/gold stool Hi Arlene, When I first read of Mark's symptoms I immediately thought of Celiac Disease as I am biopsy diagnosed as having it myself. The tests are inadequate and the knowledge of the doctors about is largely myth. www.enterolab.com www.finerhealth.com The symptoms of Celiac are many and different. Guest guest
<< By that I mean that Yes or No to those items -- whether all or some -- doesn't get you closer to knowing whether you are a celiac or not. It shows that you are thinking and aware of your body. That part is good. >> *********************** Hello, Mark, I have to study up on this disease when I get a chance. Let me start off by saying that ANYONE who doesn't have dark-colored stools can't use this. When studying at Dr. Mercola's website about gallstones and his recipe for a cleanse, I noticed that he gave his patient's, who still have gallbladders, something called Beta-TCP. What this product is, is it's taurine and beets, along with a couple of other things. Taurine and organic beets, I should say. Anyway, what taurine and beets do is thin down the bile allowing it to pass freely. Again, you must have normal colored stools to even use it. So far, and I'm reporting my findings, I haven't had not one GB attack or pain since my last cleanse. My last cleanse was over a month ago, and shortly after that, I started using this product. You take it with your meals. Here's the thing: You can't buy it direct from the company that puts it out, i.e., a place called Biotics. All healthcare practicioneers can sell it. For example, if you go to a chiropractor, he can sell it. An M.D. could sell it, but they're mostly narrow-minded about stuff like this. Dr. Mercola is a D.O., i.e., an osteopathic doctor, but he's also a naturopathic doctor. So he sells it to his patients. If you have a doctor that is not against natural medicines, they'll probably sell it or get it for you. I buy it from a chiropractor in Ca. He's the only person which I can find that sells it over the internet. For those who have no GB, they don't need this product. They need something called Beta-Plus. It is a fat emulsefier (not sure of my spelling). Another thing that I've done in the last two weeks is take Steve's advice and do the water cure. I drink a lot more water than I did before, plus adding that extra sea salt to my water. Between these two things, I've been feeling wonderful! I don't mean to say that I'll never have another attack, but right now these are really helping me a lot. Hope this helps someone. Guest guest
Arline, Thanks so much for the stool-test lead. I'll for sure be sending some off. I'm still reading the site, so excuse me if my questions are answered there somewhere. Is it possible that a clogged gallbladder/liver (stones) is the cause of Celiac Sprue? If so, therefore could flushing possibly cure it (as flushing/cleansing is represented to be able to cure so many other disorders)? Also, how does one ship a stool sample? I'm guessing they need to be cold-shipped. -Mark ----- Original Message ----- From: grandy grandy gallstones Sent: Saturday, September 01, 2001 1:25 PM Subject: Re: Yellow/gold stool Mark, Here are a couple of websites belonging to a gastroenterologist who has spent many years studying gluten and other sensitivities that you may be interested in. Guest guest
You wrote, " So, am I to understand that you regained healthy dark solid stools with only an antibiotic prescription, and without doing any flushes? Mark, Yes, that was the case with me, as all I had was a simple internal infection. But that may not be the same thing you are dealing with. I do not remember what the antibiotic was. Probably keflex, but sorry, it's been too long ago to remember. Regards, Steve Mark wrote: > Steve, > > Thanks for the suggestions. I will look into them. You don't remember the name of the antibiotic, do you? I went to the doctor twice about a year ago, and he just said go home, it's only ibs. Did your diagnosis come from a stool sample? > > I am familiar with the water cure, though, and it doesn't help. Another good internal natural antibiotic is Nutribiotics grapefruit seed > extract. 80% to 90% of my gallbladder pains disappeared when I > increased my water intake to fit my body weight. The theory is that it thins out the bile, allowing it to flow more smoothly and do its work emulsifying fats more effectively. You can read about the water cure and how it is helping people overcome a myriad of problems at: http://www.watercure2.com/ > > Regards, > Steve B. > > Mark wrote: > > > Sandy & Steve, > > > > I also have the light colored stools. Guest guest
I am a celiac. I have read about the disease for over ten years. And I know well several other celiacs. The partial list below is not a good short list. By that I mean that Yes or No to those items -- whether all or some -- doesn't get you closer to knowing whether you are a celiac or not. It shows that you are thinking and aware of your body. That part is good. The remark " Celiac's symptoms " is misinformation. Though the statement " all symptoms don't always present " is including the idea that the list given is not complete, this is misleading to the idea that it is a good short list in discussing that disease. It was this type of misinformation from medical references that delayed my own discovery by several years. Celiac discussion is available at alt.support.celiac best wishes, Pat Mark wrote: > , > > here's a list of Celiac's symptoms that I don't have: > 1.) I generally have no abdominal pain; > 2.) Guest guest
I figured it might be something like that. Guest guest
I would say Celiac is a syndrome/disorder, not really disease. It is a product of disease or better call it disorder, not really a cause. Wheat is one of the causes. Just one of many. I think intahepatic stones are actually more a disorder, then disease. Mark, just keep cleansing your liver. All your symptoms are liver related. Even if it is not celiac. More then 50% of people who consumed wheat bread all their life, older then 30, are more or less wheat intolerant. Food intolerance, if acquired through life, is actually liver that " acquired " too many stones. So celiac (disorder) is a product of intahepatic stones (primary disorder). Celiac is just another name for liver disease/disorder. Almost all food sensitivities and allergies are liver related. People who do over 16 flushes rarely have allergies. Celiac is also caused by intahepatic stones. Just keep flushing! Repeted flushing can often " flush " celiac. More then 40% of people older then 30, who ate bread all their life have to some degree celiac syndrome/disorder. Celiac is curable and preventable syndrome for most adults. Don't get scared by web sites and doctors. BUT, It is always smart to decrease/minimize consumption of grains, the main cause. Cave-man didn't eat grains. People with blood type O are close genetic relatives to cave-man. More then 40% of people on this planet are still blood type O, almost all Africans are blood type O, and over 40% of Caucasians. Being genetic relative to cave man means grains (bad food) can harm your health. Agnes

Guest guest
Susie, Thanks for the lead. I'm into all I can get. Although after first glance, she doesn't appear to focus on olive-oil flushing; looks like she sells herbal/nutrient prods. My problem is I'm kinda burnt out on pills; I've taken so very many, and none have cured. Not saying I'm not taking anything now or not researching anything new; I'm just more skeptical about pills than I used to be, especially about curing the liver. Have you both done flushes AND taken the Livatone? What's your experience(s)? Let me reword my problem with " pills & herbs " . Recently I thought I'd try Dandelion greens for my liver. I spent the next two days with an ibs flare-up. That's the basic way things go anymore. You see, I can't digest what's supposed to aid my digestion. The ones that help seem to help at first, but then their effects fade. But I keep searching. -Mark ----- Original Message ----- From: Tishri7@... gallstones Sent: Saturday, September 01, 2001 9:40 PM Subject: Re: Yellow/gold stool I figured it might be something like that. Guest guest
Agnes, We can quibble about what we call it (disease or disorder) but if the body forms antibodies as a result of eating grains, one would be well advised to find out a little accurate information about it in order that their body isn't destroyed in one way or another. Doing liver flushes may be beneficial and necessary if one is forming stones, etc. but it isn't going to save the life of somebody who has autoimmune reactions to grains. It doesn't have anything to do with allergies. Certainly we all have choices whether or not to look into information that may help us. Guest guest
Steve, Sorry to keep pestering you about this, but: How long had you had the stomach infection? Can a person have one for years? Have you remembered the name of the bug or the antibiotic yet? Also: It seems there may be a strange connection with dental infections (according to others posts here) and digestion disorders. I just realized I had a cavity at the time my disorder appeared. And I hadn't had a cavity for 20+ years previous. Hmmm. Guest guest
Mark, My stools had been yellow for about a month. No cavities at the time, that I know of. Sorry, do not remember the name of the antibiotic. The doctor did not test me for a specific bug. He just said it sounds like an intestinal infection, and prescribed an antibiotic. Doctors know which antibiotics work best for infections in any part of your body, whether upper GI, lower GI, upper respiratory, etc. Since he did not test for a specific bug, he may have prescribed a broad spectrum antibiotic known for effectiveness in the intestinal tract. I just don't remember. Regards, Steve B. Mark wrote: > Steve, > > Sorry to keep pestering you about this, but: > How long had you had the stomach infection? Can a person have one for years? I just realized I had a cavity at the time my disorder appeared. And I hadn't had a cavity for 20+ years previous. Hmmm.
