I have a handicap tag for the car. I use it quite often and don't feel guilty about using it at all. I've used the carts at Walmart too. They're fun and everybody gets out of the way making shopping alot quicker. LOL

Does anyone use a handicapped tag/placard (sp)?

I would like to have one just for when I am out by myself, when hubby is with me, he's great about dropping me off at the doors, but if I'm out alone (very seldom), especially Walmart or if we ever got to go out to concerts or fun stuff ever again, it would really make a big difference to me....as my physical therapist said, "it would save some of my energy to use in other ways". I just feel very weird about asking for one. She also wanted me to use the battery powered chairs at Walmart.....I really don't want to do that....at least not now (plus the baskets are too small).

Debby, I do have a handicap placard. I was having a really rough time back in 1998 and would never go anywhere by myself. DH went with me to the doctor and asked him to write me a note for one. I was embarrassed to ask for it myself, and he just took over and asked. I was so glad he did! It makes all the difference when you have to run in somewhere and are already low on energy. Like I say, my energy bank account is always withdrawn. Colorado is great in that you don't have to go to the doctor to have it renewed. When it comes to the renewal date, you just state you still need it and sign the form. They mail the placards to you.

1. While it is wonderful to share our experiences with everyone on the list as to what treatments do and don't work for us, pls always check with your dr. Some treatments are dangerous when given along with other meds as well as to certain health conditions or just dangerous in general.2. If you are in a difficult situation (doesn't matter what it is) pls don't be afraid to ask for help. It is the first step to trying to make that situation better.Have a nice day everyone.

For the FM and the UCTD (undifferentiated connective tissue disease), not fully lupus, but with just enough symptoms of lupus to be a major pain in the butt.
