Also, we often recommend that you detox your system before becoming

pregnant. In Denver, the Naturopathic Doctor who helped me detox was

Lynda,

Does he have a website. Is there a file on exactly what " detoxing "

means?

I will do whatever it takes to get my health back. I do not want to

lose my house, job and especially not my husband.

Thanks

We have a lot of detoxing programs in our archives too . . . Some of them cost next to nothing. . . Epsom Salt baths Clay baths Fasting Lifer Flushes Ionic foot baths (if you want to see my photos, let me know) FAR infrared sauna The Maker's Diet - Rubin The Yeast Connection Fresh, crushed, raw garlic Oil of Oegano, Olive Leaf extract Calcium/Magneisum/Vitamin D Insititol coffee enemas drinking at least 1/2 ounce of water per pound of body weight daily Strict avoidance of sugar and refined grain (especially sugar) Avoiding as many chemical products as possible .. . cleaning, cosmetic, foods, etc. No microwaving Sea Salt insead of table salt Coconut oil Massage Stree and anger

management Yoga Rebounder Moderate exercise Kefir (and other probiotis) Take note of any products you are using that may contain silicone or silicone dioxide. . . If you feel worse after using them, you may be hypersensitive to silieone . . .If so, avoid these products. The list goes on and on . . . Truthfully NOBODY can tell you exactly why you are getting sick from your implants. Not the doctor's and not us! There are a number of possiblities that will vary by the individual. . . Implants contaminated on insertion . . .valve failure - leading to contaminated implants . . . deteriorating implants - allowing material to pass between body and implant . . . allergy to materials . .. rupture - allowing implant materials to spill into your body . . . silicone hypersensitivity . . . Implant material leaching -

like ionized platinum (very potent neurotoxin). It may be thta your body is just worn out trying to get rid of a foregin object. Each of us has to take responsibility for figuring out what works, or doesn't . . . I'd suggest keeping journal of what you do and how you feel. We don't seem to get better steadily . .. Symptoms wax and wane.. . When you are detoxing, you may experience a temporary worsening of symptoms. . .Not to worry. This is normal . .. but you have to know when it's herx, or when you're actually sick. . . You''ll start figuring it out soon. This group is wonderufl about helping with questions on all of this stuff. . . If you have any questions, someone will be happy to share their experience with you. Hugs, Rogene

We need a name for you! You appear to be moving though this really fast! . . .That's wonderful! It's often hard to get through the denial stage and ready to consider explant! . . . Sorry about that, you can call me Lynn.

I know it seems that I am moving fast but I have been thinking about

getting them removed for a while now.

My arthritic pain started in my hip a little over a year ago. It

gets worse and worse every month/day. I have also had reoccuring

sinus infections (I take an antibiotic and within a week of being off

the RX it is back again).

I am oh so tired, fatigued. I used to be full of energy! Now it is

a chore to get me to want to leave the house.

The most recent bout of doctors visits were the kicker for me to

start researching they WHYs??? I couldn't bend my big toe. I

thought it could be Gout (ha ha, I am a 34 y.o. female who rarely

drinks). The labs came back showing an elevated ANA profile (this

was in December 06).

The doctor thought I had RA. They took more blood, froze it and sent

it to Mayo. Came back that it was being caused by a medication I am

on for my endometriosis (or so the doctors who are in denial about

the breast implants say). I did get a shot of Lupron in October to

help my endometriosis.

Seems I have a million things going on - I know. But during this

entire mess of doctors and a gamet of tests (MRI, ultrasounds, EKGs,

a bizillion labs) I have thought all along it could be my breasts!

I old my OB/GYN that I thought it was my breasts and he had some

excuse that there is no proof, etc. etc. etc. I did mention it to my

primary doctor and she did tell me that even though there isn't

concrete proof that she would recommend I get them taken out (it

wouldn't hurt the cause).

So here I am - doing research again because I am damn and determined

to find out why I went from an active, fun, hard working woman to a

shell of who I used to be. Thus, I found Beth's story. It lead me to

this support board.

PS... About 3 months ago I did google to find a story I had seen on

cosmetic surgeries called " True Life " on MTV. I e-mailed the girl

who got so sick but never received a response. :(

But now I am gung ho! It CAN'T be a coincidence!! More than 1/2 of

the symptoms that I am having are listed on this site and others. I

am not going to sit here and do nothing over vanity. I don't want to

die, I don't want to be disabled, I want my health back....

I hope that helps. Sorry I have been in such a rush. I just want to

be healthy. I have developed depression, anxiety and panic attacks

due to all these health issues. :(

-Lynn, I had a terrible time with endo before having children. I

had my children, but would have to go right back on the pill after

so it would not come back. I am doing great now, don't have any

problems, but I have to stay on the pill. It is soooo painful to go

through that. I moved VERY fast too when I found all this out, had

mine out within one week. It was very obvious for me because I

finally ended up with loss of feeling in one arm and hand and the

burning pain in the implants. But I had a lot of what you describe,

we all did. I am 7 weeks post explant now and still seeking tx for

getting it all out. But a lot of women here have recovered well. I

think I will too, but it is a slow process. Love and hugs Nan

I really wish I could move as quickly but the PS can't even see me

for a consult until the end of next month :(

I have been asked to be put on a waiting list and I will call several

times a week to see if there have been cancellations.

I am glad to hear that you were able to gave children with the endo.

Best of luck to you on a steady recovery. My consult & explant can't

come soon enough.

Take care of yourself.

I also had all your symptoms... Had mine removed and I was correct.... Follow your gut, get them removed by a skilled explant surgeon. You are for sure in the right place.

Hi Terri,

I had a Lupron shot in October but that was to wear off in January.

Still no period. Prior to this I have had three surgeries to remove

the endometriosis. Each time they say my tubes are clear, my

husband's sperm is fine and I ovulate every month (I have one of

those $200+ electronic kits). We have even underwent interuterine

inseminations 3 times w/ no baby... I have had my implants for

almost 8 years now. I just wonder if that could be the reason?

Lynn, We can't prove it, but the odds are that your implants play a role in infertility. Hopefully you'll be able to conceive a very healthy baby in a year or so. One of our members put herself on the fast track to get healthy so she could have a child before the clock ran out . . . She followed watched her diet religiously and detoxed thoroughly. She had a very healthy baby a couple years after her explant . . . I'm sure she'd be happy to talk to you . . . jewels75@... . If I remember right, she saw Dr. Mercola. Terri~

I am so sorry for you heartbreaks.

I am 30 and about the age and menopause thing it varys I know cause

5 years ago I started to get premenopausal symptoms.(according to my

gyn)

And I would have clumped it in with the implant problems BUT!!!!!

My Grandmother started to go through this in her late 20s and my mom

now 52 has been going through meno. since she was about 32.

Is menopause set on early in your Family??

What about the women before you?

Like mom ,sisters, aunts and Grandmas??

I hope this is not upseting you, what I say.

Cause that does not mean a baby is not in your future for there has

been many miracles of women going through it and still conciving a

child.Actually have heard stories of women who believed because they

were going through MENo. they could not get pregnant so in turn had

unprotected sex and ended up with a bundle of joy when they were not

ready for it.

So keep heart and faith believing Gods will in your life.

Also the detox thing is huge for any one!!Ecspecially for some one

with implants or just out of explant.MAY God bless you ,JEN

Terri,

I think the implants definitely affected this for me. I stopped

suddenly....with no real symptons of menopause to speak of. That

was when I was probably 46/47. Then I became very sick very

quickly....from the implants. I am now 51.

I thought it was young too...and I also didn't believe it at the

time.

Thank you so much. I will contact her.

If nothing else, this will get my husband on board. He wants a baby

so badly.

--Jen,

I really appreciate your concern, I have two beautiful children 9

year old daughter and 17 year old son, I just had also had

miscarriages in between them, Believe me at 44 and as sick as I am

you couldn't pay me to have any more kids LOL. I was just trying to

give some advice that it does somtimes affect hormones. What ever you

do don't get pregnant and breast feed with implants, Both mine were

and both had problems, luckily they are just sinus related now.

Youare sweet to offer me encouragement.

Lynn, Sometimes they treat sinus infections with antibiotics when they are really fungal infections. Antibiotics works short term, but they kill off the beneficial organisms our body need. . . Then sinus problems come back with a vengeance. See if your doctor will address your sinus problems a fungal and see if you get better. You can put an antifungal cream and swab it as far up your nose as possible. Eating garlic is a winner here too! The Mayo Clinic found that the majority of allergies and sinus

problems had a fungal basis. I know my allergies are bad when I have

fungal problems.

HI and welcome na. Beautiful name, by the way! :)

It's good to have a name to what ails us, but it's hard sometimes when

others don't know or understand. I know what you mean about always having been

the

primary caretaker and now wanting to have a little consideration given to

YOU. We spoiled them and taught them how to treat us; or basically, what to

expect of us, and what is expected of them. I'm having the same problem (can

you

tell?). My family is slowly coming around. I had to explain things to them,

gently, rationally, and tell them what I needed and/or wanted them to do for

me (I did not assume they knew). And when I am not feeling up to doing

something, I say so (something I never did in the past). I had to get

accustomed to

my house not being PERFECT,...OK, so I'm not there yet. LOL! It still bugs

me sometimes, but I'm getting there.

Don't expect all of them to rush out to the bookstore to buy books on the

subject. None of mine did. They didn't even borrow the ones that I bought,

although one or two (hubby and one daughter) looked things up on the internet.

I

have multiple autoimmune diseases, and they flare or attack in tandem or in

layers. We seldom know which triggers what; I just muddle through. These are

my autoimmunes: MS, SLE (Lupus), 's, Psoriatic Arthritis, and

Psoriasis. I have not been diagnosed with RA (yet). <Grin> But with the way

things

have been going...you just never know!

put me on antidepressants. Needless to say they didn't work, I was

still in so much pain. This went on until 2003, when for some reason,

not related to RA I had a black out at work. I went to the ER and

they did a CT scan to check for a stroke, it came back negative and

they ordered an MRI, the MRI showed lesions on my brain and I was

sent to a neurologist. The neurologist did all of the standard tests

for MS and other neurological disorders, and found that I did have

impaired cognitive function so we did two further tests, a PET Scan

and another lumbar puncture and found I was a carrier of the

Alzheimer's Gene. This still didn't explain any of the other

symptoms, but I had a Doctor that cared. He set me up with a new

Internist, she worked with me and worked with me, ran pulmonary,

cardiac, every test you could imagine including RA, but everything

came back negative, then one day I called her because my fingers on

both hands were so swollen I couldn't bend them, she tested me again

for RA, then did x-rays, sent me to a Rheumatologist and he confirmed

the diagnosis. I was started on MTX and Remicade. Needless to say, I

feel almost a 100% better, but I still have bad days, still tired,

but nothing like in the past. I wish my family understood more. They

look at me like I am crazy when I say I am tired or I have problems

doing some things with my hands, or moving. It really hurts.

Sometimes I would like to just kick them (I know violence is not the

answer). Sometimes I really hate them. I know in the past I have

always done it all, did it for years when I didn't feel like it. Went

nonstop 90% of the time even when I felt I couldn't go on. They still

expect me to do it. My stepkids are the worst. Ages 33, 36, and 39,

but if they stub their toe I am expected to ohh and aww and think it

is the worst thing ever. I am not feeling sorry for myself, but would

just like some consideration. Sorry to ramble on, but needed someone

to vent to that might understand.

I am also praying for a job that will allow me one day off a month so

I can continue my remicade therapy. Finances are tight right now as

we are paying for our health insurance which is very expensive and I

know stress doesn't help RA.

Thanks for listening.

I really have empathy for you. 90% of my family reacts the way you describe

yours does to you. I got so bad that i wound up in the hospital for almost

a month. I had to have 2 chest tubes, my hands were so swollen, i couldn't

put on a bra, my wedding ring was cutting off my circulation. The RA was

finally getting back at me for all the times I just kept going on and on

PLUS my husband died unexpectedly that same year before I was hospitalized.

I was quite a " mess " . My family for the most part has no clue what RA,

Fibro, depression amoung other chronic conditions I live with. I am made to

think it is all my fault because I am overweight and don't belong to a gym.

I get soooo frustrated....I pray and journal alot and I have a dog who is my

blessing from God. I only wish people could take lessons from the

unconditional love my little female Jack gives me. I must add she

is an exceptional back warmer. Hang in there na, and if you need to

vent you can always email me directly. I am new to the group, too.
