Gent. could be given within 1 hour before or after recom. time. For example, you have to give at 8 pm, but you can give at 9 pm or 10 pm

Hope this helps, dilya

Hi Listmates,Got an urgent question and wonder if anyone can help.My DAN has prescribed Gentamicin for my son (18mg every 8 hours)3 times each day, for 7 days. I wonder if the antibiotics has to be given at EXACTLY 8 hour intervals? I have a problem with the last dose of the day on this 8 hours schedule because I have to wake him up for this last dose and it then becomes a real struggle getting him back to sleep. I have already started on the course and last night he stayed up and cried for a long time after being woken up.......... .and now I feel so sleep deprived.Any input would be greatly appreciated! !! Many thanks

No, you don't need to wake him up.

Hi Listmates,

Got an urgent question and wonder if anyone can help.

My DAN has prescribed Gentamicin for my son (18mg every 8 hours)3 times each

day, for 7 days. I wonder if the antibiotics has to be given at EXACTLY 8 hour

intervals? I have a problem with the last dose of the day on this 8 hours

real struggle getting him back to sleep. I have already started on the course

and last night he stayed up and cried for a long time after being woken

up.......... .and now I feel so sleep deprived.

Any input would be greatly appreciated! !!
