Guest guest
Ron, I have found that keeping open lines of communication help to foster a good relationship between patient and practitioner. For instance, when a new patient schedules in our clinic we take all of their insurance information. From there, we verify their benefits and contact the patient to inform them of their benefits with regard to outpatient therapy. This shows that you are willing to go a little out of your way to make sure your patients understand their benefits and serves to begin to develop that patient practitioner relationship before the patient has that first appointment. Guest guest
Another step in this process is to get the patient to sign that these steps were taken and they have been informed what their copay or payment plan will be. That way if there is ever a dispute there is their signature and date confirming this was done when they say they did not remember this or did not sign any form.
