Guest guest
Hi . You're very smart to check in advance. We once had a 2,700 square foot pool facility downstairs and a 5,500 square foot land facility upstairs. Different requirements for both. We too wanted to use the bathrooms in the public area of the floor and were finally allowed to after concerns of wet pool patients walking the halls were resolved. We did have one bathroom in the suite but HHS said we needed a separate one for men and women so we had to take out the one and use the hall, or add a second bathroom (which we did). It would be nice if that were the end but then we had to install a water fountain in the place our bottled water dispenser was located. The HHS surveyor's reasoning was the bottle may not be refilled. We had to put signs over all sinks warning that " Water May Be Hot " , had to move a trash can under the paper towel dispenser instead of next to the toilet 3' away, etc. The scary part was that we ran into three cases where something that was required by Medicare was not allowed by the city and visa versa. In each case the city allowed the Medicare requirement. Very smart to research in advance sir. Have a nice weekend. Doug Regulations for medicare, etc for new clinic We are looking at putting a new clinic inside a large multipurpose building. There will be bathrooms and sinks etc, but will be about 3k feet away from us, inside the building. There is no plumbing, etc in our specific area. Are there any regulations for this? We will not be seeing Medicare initially, but want to keep that option open. Anyone have the link to what is required of a facility to become medicare certified? We could be closer to the bathrooms, etc, but then we would not have our own entrance, which will face the main parking lot. Thanks Looking to start your own Practice? Guest guest
I would not want to work at a clinic or receive therapy at a clinic that the closest bathroom/water source is over a half mile away. The first patient that got sick and you needed to clean off the mat or floor... would not be much fun... or the patient decides they need to use the bathroom in the middle of your session and it takes them 10 minutes to walk there plus 10 minutes to walk back... there goes your productivity. Guest guest
, Don't forget to check with your state dept. of health. They should have requirements also.
