When my son was little, he did not sit for any length of time. Eating together at home was hard, but he did do it in booths in restaurants. We would put him on the inside, next to a wall. Could you position your table against a wall and somehow partition off his seat with other furniture? I'm just thinking this might work because my son did stay seated in a booth. Also, I teach special ed. I have to arrange furniture around some of my students desks in order to give them a feeling of safety and keep them in a work area.
