Guest guest
It'll make you sicker to hear that they are 'performing' it in our small town hospital clinic by a " tech " ; the billing provider (DO) is 30-90 miles away at the time of treatment; and they are billing 97140 Manual Therapy! When it does not work on the patient, they send the patient to us for Physical Therapy and we get denied payment for 4 weeks or so of therapy because the above was already billed as " Physical Therapy " . We get " Too many services " on the EOB. We have to call on all of this referring provider's patients to see if they had DRX performed prior to referring to us so we can figure out what to do. Lott Rural Rehab Providers, LLC More miracle machines A D.O. in my town is advertising a new miracle machine to cure all LBP. Its called the DRX9000 and appears to be a glorified supine leg pres contraption. It sounds like quite a money making system. The brochure states that daily sessions for 45 min are required followed by e stim, mmm, looks like someone is srtiving for 4 units per patient. Also the brochure states that a " therapist " localizes the pain " and directs treatment accordingly. It makes me sick to think that you can bill the Ther Ex code (97110) for this type of one size fits all Rx. and that this D.O. will likely make quite a bit of money from this method. Jus thad to get this off my chest.
